Going to pick up my JCW with the pro exhaust installed in a few hours!! Did you get a remap with the tuning kit for the JCW or is it only for the Cooper S? Do you know if the JCW standard exhaust will fit on a new Cooper S? This is relevant to me since I have a friend that owns one and I thought he could install it on his. Instead of just leaving it at the dealership. Thx in advance, great channel man!

I don't think it needs a remap, that might be only the s. I don't know if standard exhaust would fit an s but I would guess yes.

Hey man, I appreciate your vlog. I recently bought a 2016 Cooper S with JCW tuning kit (valved exhaust and remap) and I wanted to ask you if the remote for the exhaust has any other functionailities other than just opening the valve. I'm asking cause I've noticed that whilst driving along with the exhaust in track mode the light turns on and off every once in a while... could it be that even if in track mode it selectively closes the valve depending on your driving style? cause I also noticed that on the overrun it doesn't make the same noise as whilst accelerating (obviously it pops and bangs but its not the same noise as when you're accelerating). Hope you can help cheers mate

Button does not do anything else that I know of. And you are not crazy, I find mine closes itself when it feels like it sometimes. I am not sure what condition makes that happen but it happens more than I am willing to admit.

The button opens the exhaust valve for "track mode". I'll make a more detailed video on it soon!

my JCW doesn't pop or rumble cause it's got a cat and an OPF and I was very disappointed to learn that. Looking to decat/opf soon.

Did you fit this after purchasing the car? or did this come fitted from mini?

I had purchased this after receiving the car. Mini does not make all these extra JCW options (exhaust, spoiler tips, front splitter) available when configuring a car. I had the dealer order/install the part so that the new exhaust would be covered under warranty.

Does this exhaust system consume significantly more fuel? In the same driving mode and with the VAL OFF" My car is F55 2018.

It feels like it consumes more but not a significant difference. Really your driving style has a bigger impact

So I would like to purchase this for my MINI but I’m concerned the default sound of the exhaust (so when the system is not activated, not in sport mode) will be too loud for everyday driving. Is this a concern ? I would like it to be loud when activated, but not for everyday driving. Thanks.

It's very quiet in regular and green modes. Quieter than the stock exhaust it feels like. But the JCW one does get louder than the stock one in sport mode. I don't think you have anything to worry about for being too loud in mid and green modes. 😎

What does it sounds like in sport mode with the valve closed (not activated).? Do you Still get crazy pops?

Do you still get the popping when the exhaust is not in track mode like with the standard JCW exhaust?

You do in sport mode but if the exhaust is not open(in track mode) the pops are muffled

Yea…. I just missed this feature in my 2014 JCW R58.

Yeeeeeep. Borla is a really good alternative option. Loved it on my R53
