If ANYONE of you have updated your speakers firmware recently then you've got the update! I uploaded the video a bit late! Sorry for that! For the people who are not getting any updates! Try resetting and reinstalling the JBL connect app! Then you will be able to update!

jbl coonnect on my iphone does not show jbl xtreme seperately it shows it in bundle. I cannot select it individually. does anybody know why mine has no tops? no high frequencies as if there are no tweeters in it.

I tried to do this and it showed a chart of all the speakers except this one I think it might not support it no more with the updated app

I have two Xtreme speakers. Neither one can connect to the JBL App so I can perform the update.... they are the 1st version Xtreme, not Xtreme2. Any advice to get them to connect? (They do, however connect together without the app).

Hi aswin i am facing an issue with my jbl xtreme .it has a loose charging port .i have to some how wrap the chord around my jbl to get it on charge . is there any possible solution to get this charge normally . i just have noticed it few days back .before that it was working normally . and the last light doesnt stop blinking while charging .please help !!

if you have soldering tools then search for vids on youtube how to disable the jbl xtreme and control the charging port. if it is loose then fix that ;) soldering sett is cheap just buy one if you don't have one :) be careful and don't overheat when soldering.

Can I undo an update somehow?

HEY GUYS I NEED HELP! I have a JBL Xtreme (the original version), and I'm having battery reading issues. I leave the speaker on charge for 24 hours and it only gets to 3 solid lights and the 4th flashing. When I unplug it and turn it on it says it's 5/5 charge. After playing audio for about an hour the speaker will suddenly turn itself off. And then turns on again by itself. It will continue to do this. Please can someone help!

hello. this jbl xtreme have two equalizer default defined. For acess, press button "Bluetooth" more button "less" during 10 seconds. One is more powerful and have more Bass, but can be distorted. The other is default after Xtreme upgrade. More clean but less sound and basses. Sorry for my poor inglish kkkkk I'm Brazilian... Hope I can help someone

That isn't a good speaker replacement. It only goes down to 200Hz, Whereas the JBL Xtreme passive radiators are tuned for 70Hz If you're going to get an aftermarket speaker driver, get one that more closely matches the JBL Xtreme original speaker drivers.

You're probably right. I already ordered the speakers and they should be here later this week or early next week. They're not terribly expensive and I'm pretty sure that I can return them. But, the problem for me was that I couldn't even find a pair. I did notice that the original speakers moved quite a lot. That seemed very impressive as the cone and surround excursion was massive for such a small speaker. And that's probably how they move the passive subwoofers out the sides. I will try these I'll post back on here with my results.

Ok, so I tried these speakers out and they did not work well at all. The speakers did not have enough extension/throw and they bottom out like crazy and just sound awful. Thanks for your help but I will continue looking for replacements.

Boa noite. Esta JBL Xtreme possui duas equalizações pre definidas. Uma delas é a que distorce, porém, tem o volume mais alto. Já a outra equalização é a que fica como padrão após a atualização da Xtreme. Para alternar entre às equalizações basta segurar p botão "Bluetooth" e o botão "menos" durante 10 segundos. Isto serve para quem achou que a caixa perdeu bass ou volume após atualizar. Obs: sorry, don't speak inglish

The app got a new name now, it is "JBL Portable", right? Thanx for the video :-)

For me, it completely ruined the sound, too crispy and not "room filling" as it was before. Be careful that you can't downgrade and go back to the previous one. Thanks to Amazon I could send it back and get a replace.

How to update to conect plus

My JBL Extreme keeps powering OFF when I listen to it at high volume. This does not happen when I am connected to the power outlet. So maybe a battery issue? I'm hoping this firmware update helps. Have you heard of or experienced this problem?

Retry re-updating it! and dont turn on or do anything until your speaker restarts by its own! so dont do anything!

Use this link to download the windows version - but this is not the latest update (7.4 i think) but at least you have a chance of reviving your speaker, then attempt the updates via the app (7.7 which is the latest update) www.jbl.com/support-product-detail.html#prod=XTREME&tab=software

All you need to do is press the bluetooth button and the volume down button together for 10seconds and it will disable the bass and vice versa

awsome update some people find after update volume and bass is not as good as before just do one thing hold bluetooth and plus button for 10 seconds jbl will turn off automatically then restart and enjoy music... better than before trust me

I don't recommend the update if your speaker doesn't have any problem. Mine has good bass before but after the update both the volume and bass have been tuned down a bit. I paired my updated Xtreme with my friend's untouched one and found the sound is now unbalanced. Quite clearly both bass and volume is a step weak on my one. My intention to update was hoping to fix the first second sound drop off problem but it's still there after the update. Not so happy now!!!

turn off the EQ by pressing bluetooth and minus button at the same time until one of the power lights flashing red. this is the low frequency mode I found on youtube that can fix the problem. Repeat the same process can switch it back to EQ enabled mode.

That's why I just switched out my JBL Xtreme battery and replaced it with 18650's, a lot of work but it's worth it.

DONT DO THE UPDATE. The bass seems to drastically diminish after updating.
