What I love about the Studio 5/6 is at ALL levels, the bass is outstanding. I live in a townhome and can't play my music too loudly, so it's nice to hear bass w/ out having to crank loud.

I have a Studio 6, and while I love it, it's always got that mono sound. So compared to my Extreme 2, which has stereo sound, I hate to say it's hard to go back to mono after listening to a stereo setup for awhile... Great battle btw!!!!

I love your reviews! I'm searching for a bassy bluetooth speaker to ride along in an S2000. 8:02 I'm comparing these using some Sony MDRXB700's (deep bass), while the HKS 6 is absolutely the absolute winner for me, I think it would just tip over in my passenger footwell on a spirited cruise (can you lay it down?). I still haven't pulled the trigger though, the lack of battery life is a major setback on the HKS 6.

These are my two favourite speakers

Studio 6, best quality, wider frequency range. Xtreme3, powerful around mids and midbass. Different kinds of taste. Both are fantastic.

The only thing that bothers this box is sound that is not so loud, but the quality is great

When golden crates was playing, you could hear those nice low bass notes and that's the bass you need in a speaker. You can say that it doesn't matter if your a small speaker user... Until you hear it yourself, you just can't go back anymore, I have charge 3 but it's just laying in the closet now, I just can't listen to it anymore.

That's weird...I have the BB1/BB2/S5/S6 and both the S5 and S6 beats the BB's when the S5/S6 are plugged in. Yes, the BB2 does get louder, which makes it better for outdoors. I only wish the S5/S6 sounded the same without AC power. :(

Which is weird because Onyx Studio 5, 6 and 7 have their tuning more suited to outdoors with that massive bass, and JBL is more of a indoor kind of sound with less bass

@@rikkygaming6240 Indeed I was, Onyx Studios lack mid bass, upper bass and loudness, which are important for outdoor use. At the time I thought that deep bass was important for outdoor. And while it can still be true, the Onyx Studios do not produce enough deep bass to be enjoyable outdoors. Partybox Encore does though.

The Studio 6 wins this Battle the bass is awesome!

Please review the Harman/Kardon Citation 200. I heard it is pretty damn good.

Sound: Studio 6 Design: Xtreme 3 Jbl Xtreme 4 has to be something with nice Design and this Studio 6 Sound.

i choose jbl x3 because its perfect to all kind of sound

onyx studio 6 sounds way better at 60% volume, but at 100% xtreme 3 is better but not that much. cool video btw~

I don't think so I don't know about the Onyx. But I do know that the xtreme 3 gets a performance bump. So it might be the same with the Onyx.

Had a H/K Onyx 5 and the bass was insane for such a small speaker.

The JBL Xtreme 3 has a cleaner, higher-pitched sound, but the Onyx 6's bass is very good !. So I prefer Harman

I own an onyx 6 and the bass department of the speaker is closer to the boombox at 0%-65% volume. As for bass, any xtreme iteration can't compete with the studio line after the studio 5.

No, its comparable to the boombox 2 at those volume levels, not the boombox. The boombox doesnt go anywhere that deep.

@Mythical Skyline I am a personal trainer and I coincide a lot in a street gym with a colleague who happens to have the Harman studio 6, we have compared them and the extreme 3 is heard above and more clearly, it is a matter of ears and tastes, I worked in a company specialized in sound equipment and I have to say that the Jbl is not the panacea at all, it colors a bit, but when you plug it into the power it is spectacular, try looking for a waterproof, dustproof speaker, with 15 hours of playtime (8 hours at full power) and a weight of 2 kilos and so small ..... Difficult choice, but I repeat it is a matter of taste, the Harman I do not see it for street use, I see it more for home ... I love the studio 6 and I was about to buy it, but for the use that I wanted it lacked autonomy and the volume was a bit large, for that I had taken the Jbl boombox .... I compared the studio 6, the extreme 3 , and Marshall's Kilburn 2 and it was a tough choice, but in the end for general parameters I opted for e l Jbl, am I 100% happy? The answer is no, but I know there is nothing on the market with those parameters.

Both great sound quality, nearly hard to hear the difference, but on 100% studio 6 better on lower bass than extreme. Studio 6 slightly more bright than extreme. On volume 60%, low on both nearly identical, but hk bit bright mid and high. 😊

W niedługim odstępnie czasu JBL Charge4, Sony XB43, JBL Boombox1, JBL Boombox2, JBL Xtreme3, Dockin d fine+(2 szt. do stereo-prawdziwego stereo! Bez żadnych aplikacji). Dockin d fine+ powala te wszystkie głośniki na łopatki, gdzie za dwupak zapłaciłem 249€, w momencie, gdy Xtreme3 (1szt.) kosztuje 259€. Uważam, że poza JBL Boombox1 ceny JBL-i do jakości to jakaś kpina! JBL to marka, gdzie płaci się za znaczek..sam się dałem naciąć- myślałem, że jakość idzie wraz z ceną. Nie polecam marki JBL (poza Boombox1). Dużo lepsze marki to Dockin, Marshall, Harman-Kardon. Mam nadzieję, że pomogę komuś w podjęciu prawidłowej decyzji. Pozdrawiam- Wojtek.

Imagine they make onyx studio with battery like in Xtreme, that will be THE best portable speaker this size.

@@nicabc what kind of backpack is that? My Xtreme 2 takes up half the space in my backpack so there's no way that H/K fits in there. Even if it were to fit in your humongous backpack it will take up all the space inside there that's not practical

Thats the thing I have the HK 6 and the battery is garbage only last like just a tiny bit over 2 hours on 50% volume and hour or so on 100% and no you can use a power bank its a ac/dc charger sucks but sounds AMAZING
