You should try to watch the jbl websites. They have something called "outlet" where they sell refurnished stuff. It feels like new. With some coupons i got mine for a bit more then 250 euros, wich is about half the price for me. If u got usd u can do the math.

The boombox privides all the bass and noice and the extreme 2 is like a back up noice just to add that extra laudness btw ik this because i have both speakers

Why low frequency test was on outdoor mode on boombox? You knw outdoor mode sacrifice low frequency for higher bass more punch .. and indoor mode better sound (lower bass, less treble) so i would've prefered if you used it more .. and some songs you used to use before are missing i rly liked those as benchmark :( like phaser ... anw overall good job and thank you :)

I was never into bluetooth speakers but 2 years ago my woman forgot the headphones when we went on a holiday and so i bought a JBL Charge 3. I liked it. Now i have Xtreme 2 and two JBL Boombox paired. JBL rocks!

Frankly speaking extreme 2 for me coz of very comfortable to bring anywhere.. u can put in hand bag but the boombox not confi..now a days the design and comfortable to bring will be peoples choice.

I went with the xtreme 2, sounds cleaner to me and seems like it will be easier to carry around.

Boombox is just a big brother of extreme 2 as per their price difference

JBL BOOMBOX IS BETTER FOR ME BECAUSE in DOOR MODE SOUNDS DEEPER when out door mode the bass is louder than the extreme

I've got my jbl a uthentics And the bass is deep And quality is just better than perfect

I love my extreme 2. I like the boombox as well but I would rather spend the money on a decent sound system.

I was surprised, the xtreme was really lacking in the mids but the boom box was all there

I have the extreme 2 it's not as carry friendly as you think I definitely wish it had a handle instead of a strap other than that I love it it's got pretty good bass and sound really good and best of all it sounds better than any beats speakers

Well, you can have a handle if you want, you can go buy some rope like a shoelaces but longer than it and craft it like a handle then buy a clip that you can put on the crafted handle and carry it around like boombox

Im still using the original JBL Boombox in 2021 :) Got it for 250€, which is around 300 USD. Works great for any use, great speaker for all around use in my opinion.

Did you know that you can update the JBL extreme 2 By a JBL app so you can even Make bass slightly more and Louder so the boom box is Good but I already have the JBL extreme 2 and it is loud Enough for me so just to let Some of you guys out there Know about updating your extreme 2 JBL nice video Like always keep up your brilliant Work many thanks

I'm hearing that a lot. I don't own one but really want one! Tbh if you're travelling via walking for a distance the 2 can be just as annoyingly heavy and awkward. With the straps (I have 2 also) they bounce around a lot slipping off the shoulder and the sway even if only an inch against the body gets annoying, can't say painful as if one does they need a bit more pain tolerance lol. Buuuuut I've also dropped them in 100 ways and all they do is bounce tumble roll a bit without dent scratch or scuff. Pick it up and away you go! Try that with a Bose lol I love how strong they are! Lastly after my babble here that no one's gonna read anyway so bc its too long and too much work for the brain...I have 2 charges I xtreme and 2 extreme 2s, it's also my basement cave dwelling home entertainment center ha..all it's missing is the mains for the bass. Each speaker has a different sound and sound great together. And. Btw oddly enough an extreme 2 commented to a charge only sound horrible together but 2 charges connected sound awesome End of rent and have a great day/night!

Just from watching the video, boom box sounds better. Better bass and mids are a lot warmer, (I guess due to bigger drivers). While the extreme sounds skinny and kinda bassy missing the mids. To me the boombox is more balance and of course louder but that’s a given, it’s bigger duh lol

I cant decide between xtreme 2 and the first boombox,the price difference in my country is only around 100eur . Ive tried the boombox and it just blows the xtreme 2 out of the water for me.But ive noticed that a lot of people get that hissing sound on low sound/battery level on the boombox. Can somebody help ?

The JBL Boombox on top of having more power, also has better bass in terms of range, and clearer mids and highs. It’s more than power, it’s just a higher quality system.

When the boombox is on outdoor mode the bass is the same on the Xtreme 2

Joaquin Fuentes I just got the Boombox on sale for $349. JBL is phasing them out to make room for the new Boombox 2. I really like the original Boombox. Start watching for more sales as they phase them out.

You didn't do a good comparison. Xtreme2 is 2X20w when boombox is 2X30w. So a fair comparison would be Boom box sound to 80% and Xtreme 2 sound to 100%. In such conditions, Xtreme 2 has overall better sound but a little less bass. Boombox is heavy, Xtreme2 is lighter. For me, Xtrem2 is the best choice. And for those who want big bass, go to JBL partybox 100. And sorry for the mistakes, I m french.

Note xtreme 2 has a outdoor mode hold the bluetooth and volume minus button simultaneously for about 10 seconds it will go louder at the cost of a bit of quality

I will prefer xtreme 2 because bass is good in boombox bass is more so other frequencies can't be heard

I got the boombox for $250, thats a steal!
