I strap the JBL Xtreme 2 to my bicycle frame when I go out and do 3 hour rides pumping bands like the prodigy and drum & bass. So far its been very successful at energizing grumpy old people to shake and wave their fists at me! I can't hear them but I think they really love the music ;-p

I just picked up 2 Xtremes for the price of 1 Xtreme 2. I am very happy with them and couldn't hear that much of a difference to pass on that kind of a deal! Nice review!!!

Thanks for this review. It was very detailed and I like the fact U included the differences between the plugged and unplugged sound difference. Ur point regarding wanting louder sounds on an open environment is spot on. I share the same sentiments. They should just incorporate a bigger battery instead of decreasing the sound because people expect this Xtreme2 to be louder at least a few decibels up. Ur review is solid gold. U earned urself a subscription from me.👍

Excellent review! Mentioned what others have missed-double sound power output on AC versus battery and how that makes for a dis-favorable comparison versus original Xtreme. Like the frequency response tests and the noted personal experience with the battery charge level issue on the Xtreme (that could only have come from having and using the product over a long time as opposed to a quick studio test).

The Xtreme 2 ac. Mode is what we wish it sound like on battery and even better without the plug... sometimes full volume doesn't feel like full volume..

Not sure what I am going to get out of it I have made my mind and ordered for a JBL xtreme 2 from the Netherlands. This is my first gamble of a bluetooth portable speaker @ Euro 298. I am in for one with a heavy bass boost. Anything better and probably cheaper to suggest?

I had the JBL Xtreme and I had a lot of problems with the battery after about 1.5 to 2 years in. I sent it out for after service and they contacted me and offered to replace the xtreme with the xtreme 2 for an extra $100 so I went for it. Now waiting for it to arrive but this video makes me much more excited to get it.

so the xtreme 1 has louder bass at mid volume but when you put it full volume it distorts and also at low frequency it distorts? so with the xtreme 2 if i just use the EQ on my phone music app for more bass boost it will be louder and less distorted?

I love how much the low frequency shows on the Xtreme 2

Excellent review. I have had a JBL xtreme now for around a month, so you could say I've arrived kinda late in the game. However, love it bad! At my pace I will probably get round to purchasing the xtreme 2 in a few years from now. By the way, I thought there was negligible difference in the sound test between the 2.

Super review friend! Always on point yours! I really don't get what JBL did here woth the Xtreme2. They had 3 f*c**n years to improve the Xtreme and honestly, they just gave it some standard upgrades like IPX7 akd connect +. I really don't get why they didn't imrpove the battery life or made it louder. For me, as a JBL fan, this is probably gonna be a turn off and and I'll buy the pulse 3 or Charge 3 onstead since I already have one Charge 3.

Don't forget that there's the boombox on the market. So if they would make it better than this, it would rich the performance of boombox and everybody would go for the xtreme 2 for 300$ instead of the boombox at 400$+

Hopefully they make a firmware to change that output level! Great video!

You are correct in your analysis of the 2 speaker's. I'm disappointed in how loud the extreme 2 is as well.

If based off sound alone, Xtreme would be it. But I hate my Xtreme cause of it's battery issues. Hope yours is a better one 🤞

Hi! I have an jbl charge 2+, if i listen music when is charging is it a problem? Battery damage maybe?

Love the review but the xtreme 2 is quieter because it emphasizes bass a little more than treble. Every new JBL speaker is going to do this. You can easily adjust the sound with an equalizer though.

Nice video! Well, with the XTreme 2, if were out together on a hot day, and I run into an ice cold bottle of Fanta soda, I'm ready for refreshment!LOL!

Yeah 20Hz instead of 55Hz on the low end would have really made a knock-out difference in the Xtreme 2 bass, you can seriously hear a difference between 20Hz and 70Hz compared to 55Hz and 70Hz. BTW, One of the BEST reviews of comparing these two I've seen all over KZread - instant subscribe! ( I honestly went with a $140 used Xtreme 1 because Xtreme 2 is just too new to break the $300 price tag right now. In person it honestly sounds incredible, beyond the quality of recording it videos. However the Xtreme 2 will indeed sound better for sure.)

i hate how everyone says "20Hz would've been better" it would of, but in reality, it is impossible to reproduce. heavy subwoofers have a hard time reaching 20hz, let alone 25.

Hey! Is it okay to run the xtreme2 in AC mode? I've heard news that doing so would damage the battery.

I have one question I compared xtreme 1 to xtreme 2 and xtreme 1 in low volumes is louder and deeper bass than xtreme 2 but when I put xtreme 2 in more volume it get louder idk if its damaged bcs I bought used and previous owner putted it in water some times can that damage speakers and make weaker sound? Or speaker is just playing like that? I need an answer bcs I don't know if it's damaged or so it should sound factory.

Next xtreme 2 vs boombox please .. keep up the best reviews on internet ✌👍

friend greetings how many watts is the extreme 1 in battery mode because if they are 20 watts like the extreme 2 because it is not worth spending money on these speakers because we almost always use them as portable speakers

Great review! I have them both and listening to them both on my galaxy s9 on battery power and no equalization, it sounded (to me) like the xtreme had slightly lower bass response and achieved slightly higher overall volume but the xtreme 2 sounded much more balanced, full, better with vocals and mids. In my opinion the sound quality alone does not substantiate buying an xtreme 2 if someone already owns the xtreme. However, if you're one of those whos xtreme's battery is dying, and/or you're intent on using it close to an open water source, and/or you demand slightly better vocals without using an equalizer application, and/or you have other jbl speakers with the connect plus feature and youre absolutely intent on connecting to them (pulse 2, flip 4, boombox), then an upgrade will suit you. Otherwise you're not getting a whole lot more in getting the xtreme 2 over the first generation, at least not $300usd worth. But that's just my opinion.

The Xtreme 1 got boomy upper bass and harsh treble which makes it great for outdoors, but if listen to a lot of music indoors and care about sound quality the Xtreme 2 sound is much more balanced and nearly hifi with deeper bass.

Do these have Stereo? Do they have Audio Jacks in case they won’t pair with my older Device? Does this sound great for Choir music, country music, classical music? Is this a 3 way system?

Its a Bluetooth speaker... What are you expecting from it? It has an audio jack, it has two drivers, but they are so close together that you cannot really hear stereo sound, and it sounds good for everything... And who listens to choir on a JBL Bt speaker?

It has stereo but the drivers and very close each other in the same ensure!! Don't expecting SUPER stereo image!! It is a BT speaker...!!👍
