Hopefully this helps someone. I’ve been producing for 3 years now. Stopped going to school to be an officer like my family, could’ve went to icon but I didn’t. I’m living in California and producing Bigroom. Everyone from here hates on the genre. dubstep, riddim and other genres are so popular here. Bottom line is i don’t care. I’ve been making what I want to make. What makes me happy. Deorro supported me this year and played my track Ignition at Lollapalooza. W&W supported my track Platoon and played it on their radio Rave Culture. I even received their personal email from Ward himself. I plan to tour and all that eventually but regardless. I’m going at my own pace. Everything Jauz said in this video is gold to all producers who watch it. Seriously. This has always been my mindset and I tell a lot of producers who send me demos for feedback etc etc. just do what YOU want to do and don’t care. Good things come to those who work hard and do what they love. Don’t try to copy anybody’s style or be something you’re not. Be comfortable with failure. Take care guys.

I have been making music for like 7-8 years on ableton now . I don’t suggest throwing out your life to obsessively make music to “ make it “ I make music all the time . But you need to have a balance in life or your bound to become depressed . Make music because you love it . that’s all

I saw jauz throwdown a late night secret set in VIP at electric forest and it was one of the best sets I have ever seen and I go to a lot of shows and festivals. I was so tired because I had been drinking all day and I could barely walk but I couldnt stop dancing. At one point he had like 10 other djs up there with him and he was just putting on a clinic. You could tell he was playing for the crowd not some pre selected set list. HE was up there throwing them down one after another like a real dj should.

such good points! specially where he talks about 10000 hours and sacrificing everything at first until you've 'figured it out' and then doing it only when you feel like it.
