He had ambivalent feelings about releasing "Something Better?!" My goodness, I can't imagine the stuff he never released. His music just never gets old. I've heard his songs hundreds of times, and I still love it like the first time I've heard them.

i have a really hard time believing he produces completely, finishes tracks and masters everything on ear buds alone. or maybe he has a mastering guy who does stem mastering in the final process?

you think it's a model before anything and nothing is over, besides that, I think it's really difficult to unveil all its secrets, it's been more than 10 years that it produces its own music, he has developed everything alone and I think he has voluntarily not present everything on mastering and other things, you must know how to keep a little secret too! but believe me my friend, Nate does everything, and all alone 😉

@@OfficialThomasMay He did tweet beforehand that he was going to show "everything" in his production process. I'm not questioning his ability, I just think his masterclass was disappointing. Some people are great players, but not great teachers. It seems like that is the case with Audien.

I think especially that Nate is like many of us, not a basic musician, he writes, he composes a lot in the ear, that's why he was not comfortable with the different keys of music, it's hard to talk about music today if you did not study in this area and you're not a sound engineer or whatever, but his music sounds good, he found the recipe alone and today he lives his dream, so maybe he is a bad teacher for others but for him he was his best teacher to build his career that will last a long time I hope, because he there is no artist who gives me as much melancholy and thrill in his music as he 👌🏼

Yea he didnt even know basic music theory or anything. He barely knew what a key is lmao. I think producing is a lot of trial and error and luck and developing a template that works that you can reuse.

I find this masterclass amazing. He said a lot of pretty unique things, like the idea of reversing the track and using parts of it in other tracks or using two sidechain compressors on sub etc. I don't care if he knows music theory, edm production is not about writing counterpoints.
