I've got one for my alto and tenor and this device really does help. I often have to practice at lower volumes when I'm home and this solves the problem. I was a sceptic but it's really good. No more standing in front of a wall! 😊🎷
Ordered! Thanks for the review

I think you will be pleasantly surprised
I'm getting this because I play in some very loud guitar heavy rock/blues band and I can never hear myself like I should. I was waiting to order this until I found out if you could play with a wired mic. Once again, you have answered that for me. Thanks Donna.

I think you'll really like this, Dale.
Yes, I heard a difference with the deflector "on". I purchased one a few months ago for practicing. It works great, a very good product. But I got mine from Meridian Winds for $39, (plus shipping) vs Amazon for $60 (ships free with Prime)

Donna can you play number 9 by moon hooch on the tenor saxophone it's not necessary
Hi Donna , KGU music have a deflector for trumpet now. Its a plastic ring, not a semicircle. Im wondering if you have tried it or if not if you can review it please.
Hi Donna, If I close the sound deflector right up to the bell that will mute the sound right? I live in a shared building and my tenor is pretty loud.
A sharper, clearer sound on the sax - not necessarily louder - just like your playing against the wall comment.
Thank you so much, can you please comment on what wireless mic you have been using?

AMT Quantum Mini 7 - excellent wireless mic
I just bought the deflector but why I didn't get the universal clip? I only got the transparent deflector, does the clip sell separately?
@DonnaSchwartz

No it doesn't sell seprately - check with the company you purchased from
On the same day which to study first sax or trumpet?

Not sure what you mean by on the same day... I don't think people should start playing a brass and woodwind right away. Learn one family really well, then learn the other.
I heard a diff on the sax

The funny thing is that I heard the biggest difference with the trumpet! Go figure - LOL!
Can't say that I could tell much difference...if any.

It's tricky to catch this on a video. If you have a real need for this, try it out
couldn't hear much. I guess only the person behind the trumpet would know the difference.

It was really tricky to try and catch this so you can hear it. I definitely heard it on my end and it allowed me to play softer if needed
