    Thank you! That tip about following the bass and hi hat might be very useful for me, I am going to try that! 🙂 I find playing the chords on a piano is helping me to internalise the changes a bit more aswell.

    I’ve had mine for over a year now and I play it almost every night when I can’t play my tenor. Great fun and a nice instrument to practice tunes and improvising. And as Donna says, it’s not for your embochure. Maybe a bit pricey but much better than the Roland Aerophone that I hade before getting the Emeo. Feels much more like a real saxophone since it has real saxophone keys. I use mine with the cabel connected to my macbook and it’s very close to zero latency.

    Yes I just don’t want to be tied to my laptop with a wire any time I want to practice. So I’m wondering what the user experience is like running through Bluetooth and an iPhone. Nobody ever seems to talk about this.

  • @DonnaSchwartz

    @@iannevins1817 As I mentioned in the video, the latency is a lot when using a phone and Bluetooth. If you want more info, contact EMEO on their site

  • @iannevins1817
    @iannevins18174 күн бұрын

    No, to be clear you only mentioned the latency while using Bluetooth earbuds. I am trying to find out what the latency is like just connecting the Emeo to my iPhone via Bluetooth. But never mind, I’ll find out elsewhere.

  • @DonnaSchwartz

    Again, contact EMEO directly via their site. When I met with them at NAMM, we spoke about this, and they strongly recommended to NOT use Bluetooth with the phone.

    Thanks for this video. Can I ask a couple of questions? 1. How is using it with an iPhone? I know you mentioned not to use it with Bluetooth headphones, but is there any latency with wired headphones and Bluetooth iPhone use? Is that as smooth as wiring it to a laptop? 2. I tried the Travelsax2 and found it very glitchy with the key response. Not so much like my sax. Is the emeo less key glitchy between notes? Between octaves, etc? Thanks!

  • @DonnaSchwartz
    @DonnaSchwartz9 күн бұрын

    There shouldn't be latency when you are wired. Not sure what you mean about the keys being glitchy - I didn't have that problem on the Travel Sax 2, and I don't have it on the EWEO.

    Great for practicing finger work, dynamics, and articulation. You can exercise your embouchure, but no perfect it. Responsiveness is also very good. Occasionally squeaks a high pitch/screech. You can connect to your mobile phone and hear your phone music through the TS2 headset which is great for practicing silently. The main concern is that the bluetooth connection requires Location permission. This may be a privacy issue since other bluetooth apps don't require Location permission. The other problem is that you cannot pair while in airplane mode while earbuds, watches, and other BT devices can. When flying, you must pair TS2 to your phone before you activate airplane mode. Alternatively, you can use one ear to listen to one of the earpieces connect to the TS2 and your other ear to use one of your bluetooth earbuds. You will not be able to change any settings (eg alto to tenor) without being connected to your phone app. I have reached out to Odisei several times with no explanation other than you need Location permission.

    Did you try what I suggested in the video? If you do have leaks, you must get the horn fixed or you will never have success. And if you want to save time and money, and be less frustrated, take a few lessons from a good teacher, instead of continually searching for answers from people who have no idea what you sound like nor what you are physically doing when struggling...

    Lifetime educator/sax player here. Another quite obvious remedy to mention is just to make a deliberate effort to shallow all the saliva in your mouth before you start to blow. I find this helps. Also, as a Legere synthetic reed convert several years ago, I do notice that spit on the back of the reed is more of an issue. Sometimes I will side a paper pad dryer down in between the reed and mouthpiece to absorb the moisture. They are white and sold on Amazon in packs of 80. 🎷😁

    Can I attach holder to a Peak portable music stand or do I need to buy a separate mic stand? Are there any images of holder being attached to a Peak collapsible stand? Is it recommended to remove iPad from case it's already in? I feel like the holder will damage my iPad Pro Zugu case eventually?

  • @DonnaSchwartz
    @DonnaSchwartz2 ай бұрын

    You can attach the Holder to any cylindrical pole - the only thing is though that if you want to attach it to the Peak portable music stand , it would go underneath the shelf of the stand. Don't know if you want that. You don't need to remove the iPad from its case. I leave mine attached. If it's a very thick case, it may be a little trickier to get it in the Holder

  • @DonnaSchwartz

    With this, you have to use sounds from programs like SWAM = that's the one that's recommended by Travel sax. I can't answer the powered speakers question because it depends on your set up, what you can afford and the sound you want to hear - that's very personal.

    I hesitate. I got a non-musical device from another company years ago, and app support lasted for less than 2 years. Then, the only option was to buy a newer version of the product. Therefore, it is a risk to buy something that could lose support eventually, because it only plays with the app.

    @@DonnaSchwartz that is a correct appreciation Donna, and thank you for your answer, but there is no guarantee his business will remain for a long time. He could have the best intention, but a hardware depending on an app to work is a risk, and it is not cheap. That is why I share my thoughts based on similar experience I had before, after spending a lot of money on a same concept of hardware. Anyone ready to spend should consider the risk of losing support.
