There is no way this performance should have caused Jayna to be eliminated. It's quite shameful that such a beautiful voice doesn't get to move on in the competition.

It's not American Idol that sends them home, it's the public who votes. Anyway, this group is crazy talented and someone needs to go home every episode. I like Jayna, and Nya, but I find most female powerhouse singers to be boring and impersonal.

They need to change the America part. A rotating panel of industry experts and real music fans would make better choices. This will never be the launching pad to a huge career that it once was, and it never will be without drastic changes.

@AllGreyEverything Real music fans? 🤣 You mean, like the fans who buy the music, that listen to the music, that chooses the music? Like the viewers? The public? Because it's the public that are the real music fans. Others might call themselves experts and knowledge, but it's still the public that are the real fans and will make or break an artist. As for having industry experts in a panel that's ridiculous, you can turn on your radio and hear what they choose, because they are who control what music is played there. This is the public's chance to choose before the industry experts get too involved. Are you really suggesting that the public get even less of a choice? How would that even create an interest for the viewer? It would kill the show. So called experts don't know what hits people's hearts. Nobody does until it hits people's hearts.

OMG, Jayna brings back the glory of Idol once again! No doubt! She's the winner for me this Season 22.

Undoubtedly the best singer in the competition. I hope she goes all the way. But considering the American Idol winner stats, the odds are not in her favor.

Well-this is American Idol - all based on the people who to vote. I wish all the best to Elise. Such talent!!! I’m sure I’ll be seeing her in the upcoming years as I’m sure she will be a very successful professional singer.

Lionel is 100% Correct, she has the stage presence for sure!!

@@autk True! The only reason why Emmy Russell is still standing is because her Mom - Patsy Russell and Aunt - Peggy are enlisting their followers to vote for Emmy. Jayna is classically trained and knows how to work her voice. She got alot of exposure from AI, and offers will come her way! I could see her being a headliner for a Cruise ship or someone in Las Vegas! Adelle should use her as a warm up or a stand-in!

It's just that country artists don't think it's big so they don't tend to come here, but there are country festivals and a lot of people all over Europe listen to country music. It's not AS big as in the US, of course, but it's still big.

America votes for who they Iike and their favorite genre. The country voting block is strong. Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson lost. Lauren Daigle won a grammy and didn't get to the later rounds.

My Mom always says that no matter what, being on Idol immediately puts eyes on you and even if you get kicked off you have a huge chance for a record deal. Music people take note regardless. So I think she and Roman will still end up as stars.

I agree 100%. Those two entertained me........the others hardly move from the microphone.......It must be so confusing and disheartening for young rising stars to witness this, but then again it might be better to understand what really happens in the entertainment business....although I am praying that both Roman and Jayna get record deals, I will be following their careers!

I hope Jayna wins. She’s got it. Everyone else ain’t ready like she is. Everyone is deserving but you can hear it and u can see it.. she’s ready. She’s confident in her performances and the music.

Jayna did show how she could sing more rockier songs like Confident by Demi and the Paramour song, she naturally has that the ability to crossover in genres as she is super talented and more importantly she has not stereotyped herself in one type of genre, so I think that what Luke said, "Bad ass singing" I personally heard Streisand and Anita Baker in her audition.......and I think Lionel knew what was coming, so he publicly said on air that she has a career and praised the effortless and brilliant dynamics of her voice! Roman and Jayna also both appropriately rocked the stage to bring the song to life, few of the other contestants did that. Jayna and Roman are naturals. I will follow their careers and pray that they get what they deserve.

@@thefairyqueen369 Both Jayna and Roman can achieve more if they play an instrument and write their own songs. Both Jayna and Roman have excellent vocals and awesome stage presence! I think that other contestants have went further because they have demonstrated that they can write songs, play an instrument, and sing 🎤 which is on a different plane. Being a “glorified karaoke 🎤 singer,” covering other artists’ material, only gets you so far. Being an original artist and producing your own music is where the $ and fame is!

Same, Roman and Jayna brought the competition to life for me......I knew how it was gonna end to be honest when they were in the bottom the first time when the selection for the top 14.....wish it wasn't so predictable!

Tonight's elimination of Jayna Elise reminds me of the fiasco that happened in Season 11 with Jessica Fernandez and Joshua Ledet... It's disappointing and shameful that American Idol's show dynamics have not changed at all since then. I suggest that great singers choose another show...

After Luke's horrible opening performance Sunday night its clear to me that Idol has an agenda now. Its not about singing and I just can't.
