You are oh so right! 👍👍👍 I discovered them not too long ago, but better late than never. By the way, they were recommended to me by Rebecca Lovell of Larkin Poe, the great blues and blues rock band. She said that Jay is one of the very best singers of her generation. She's absolutely correct! 👍💖🎸😎

Freaking voice is stupid good. I wish I could sing that good. I love this song and I'm trying to learn it but not only can I not hit the high notes I can barely get through the lyrics without getting shook up. This song means a lot to me and I feel it in my soul as I'm sure many others do. Rival sons should be huge I don't see how they aren't on everyone's Playlist. Everyone I show them to is blown away and turned into an instant fan.

This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard! It embodies everything I feel and believe about life. I was there when my mom died in the hospital. Her fear was that she would die alone, but her family was there when she passed. It was time to let go and let her "soul go free". This song puts it all so well. 👍👍👍👍👍

This is my saviour. when the Coronaviras started I got the worst of the worst anxiety you can Imagine. Cryin, panicking, said over and over again that I don't want to die. really heavy stuff. But then I found Jay streaming from his home and suddenly I felt the panic go away. His way of expressing himself of this crazy world we live in now, it makes me safe. He makes me safe and helps me true this. I wish so much that I could thank him in any way I say it here, thank you so much Jay for being the one that made me safe again I can go out without fear I can't see my friends but we can call each other and MUSIC. the best medicine there is. You have made a big difference and I will always be so grateful for that. Thanks Jay 🙏🙏🙏🌺🤘🏻

That's great, Karin. You've realized that death is not something to fear. Like the song says, "There is no death for those who believe".

This got me through my Grandmas passing. She battled multiple cancers for 3 years. “To say that I’ve lost you, is a selfish thing to say. I’ve never seen nothin as beautiful, as watching you slip away.” Thankyou Jay

Late to the party and discovered Rival Sons about two months ago. Had their discography on a loop ever since and still no signs of deviating just yet. Why on earth would I? Please be UK-bound soon!

The wolves look to the moon And the ocean to the sky I've looks to my whole life Now I have to say goodbye But to say that I've lost you It's a selfish thing to say I've never seen nothing as beautiful As watching you slip away I'd rather see you go in the arms of your angels Than to keep you right here with me I'll meet you on the other side of the Jordan Now let your soul go free You did it all with feeling And failure, you took it gracefully You said third star to the right And straight on until morning When you need me, you know That's where I'll be Now the rest of my life without you Right now it's hard to conceive You said, don't cry form me now You've got to remember There is no death for those that believe I'd rather see you go in the arms of your angels Than to keep you right here with me I'll meet you on the other side of the Jordan Now let your soul go free

Does someone know the chords of his acoustic version? I can't find them on the net and I'd like to play this on a funeral. I'd really appreciate any help.

Sorry that I'm late... It's tuned in open G. So the main part, you just Barr the 10th fret on middle 4 strings, then same with the 5th fret and then open (which open is a G major chord).. the little fill licks aren't hard to figure out. There are too many parts that are kind of hard to explain like that chord that looks like an F sharp power chord with open high strings (and I don't know the names of the chords since it's tuned to open G) but I'm sure there are covers or possibly tabs.

Knowing that it's tuned to open G should help when watching a video like this.. The tuning would be (in order from E string to little e string) D G D G B D
