@@grandayatollah5655 This is the big problem with Javelin, fantastic weapon, I will not disagree, but dam its expensive. This is why US should have more TOWs, specially when you consider half of its war was in Iraq, like the video of guy shooting at some insurgents, I would prefer a RPO in that situation, or a TOW if the target is far away enough (or friends/non combatants close enough, if close get a AT-4)

The way I see it, any weapon that the US exports to rebels should be allowed by private citizens of the United States. It goes both ways. If Joe can't be trusted with the weapon, why is it ethical to give it to Hadji? You better believe that a rebel group, armed by the US, is a "well regulated milita", otherwise WTH are we doing?!

Raytheon doesn’t make javelins they tend to make elcans, Pratt and Whitney aircraft engines, tomahawk cruise missiles for the military.

You can fire an FGM-148 off hand a lot easier than a kornet or any of those other stupid ATGMs with tripods and periscope sights stuck in the 1950s.

@@totalnerd5674 The Ukrainian Stunga-P ATGM sort of takes trench periscopes to the logical conclusion by using a remote control station (the PDU-215, basically a hardened laptop monitor and control stick) that lets the gunner fire and steer the missile from an offset concealed position. Not really designed for shoot-n-scoot like the NLAW or Javelin, but probably the next best thing and maybe gives some outright advantages in letting the missile crew use cover.

You have to value the life-cost (of those tanks remaining functional/able to attack) into the equation though, the 'weapon vs. target' cost-discrepancy is worth it in many cases.
