Jason Leonard's British & Irish Lions Drinking Stories 🐐
Alex Payne and Mike Tindall are joined by Jason Leonard on The Good, The Bad & The Rugby Podcast to reminisce about old British & Irish Lions tours, epic drinking stories and discuss the semi-professional era of rugby in the 90's.
Which story was your favourite? The goat on a rope or Nelson Mandela's Cognac? 😂

@Nova Terrance you are welcome =)
Love him, legend.
Had the great pleasure of meeting Jason Leonard at Belper RUFC and he could have stayed all week telling stories. What still sticks is - and for context Belper is a pretty village in the Derbyshire hills - "This club reminds me of where I started" then he paused looked round and added "except for all the trees and fields"
Legend of the game

The Boss.
Sorry Fun Bus, but I've heard the goat-chain story before on Simon Mayo's Confessions way back before that tour. But a good telling.

I remember it as well, one of if not the best confession I heard, shame it got plagiarized by Jason! Gone down in my estimation, shame. If I remember it was a Cornish tin mine

@@Flashjohnsparks in fairness to Jason, we don't know where he got the tale - it could just be a shaggy dog story. The other great confession was the guy who borrowed his sister's hamster Hammy to ride in his RC plane. One time plane failed to respond to the controls and flew off into the distance with Hammy on board. He followed the plane's path and eventually found it several miles on in a hedge, but no sign of Hammy. So he returned to Hammy's cage and cut and bent the bars to make it look as though Hammy had Staged a jail break.

@@TheCaptScarlett Mr Happy and the Wasp was another classic. I'm still really sad they weren't allowed to replay those stories

Jason "Chupacabra"Leonard!
Dry !
Whats the in-joke about Austin Healey then?
If Mike Tindall doesn't know that Gavin Hastings likes a good session he doesn't know much about the big guy...

@Attila The Pub Could be, but i've seen him in action and he's no shrinking violet! Admittedly, don't know what Jason Leonard's like, but the goat story was a hoot (and included the man in question).
