The shared knowledge is very appreciated! I recently became a dog owner again and people have ZERO manners, and do not teach their kids to not run up and pet random dogs… but then it’s the dogs fault because parents don’t watch their kids as they should.

People: if you ask someone for permission to pet their dog and they say no, don’t blame the owner or the dog! In my experience most people do ask to pet my Corgi because he’s cute. Corgis look affable and they appear to be smiling all the time. They’ll bring their children to my dog and ask permission as their child is already reaching for him. When I say no I’m sorry he’s not comfortable, the adults glare at me! The kids look at their parents glaring and they glare at me or start whining and crying. As I am trying to get my dog away from the situation they’re blocking my exit and the kids are still reaching for my dog. This is a people problem! My Corgi has never shown signs of aggression nor bitten anyone. But I don’t trust people! I trust him to behave as he’s been trained but I don’t trust people to respect that. P.S. most people have no clue how to behave around animals

As an owner of a female pitbull and a male bully, i agree with him 100%. People need to stop sugar coating just because you love your dog. It's ok to be truthful 💯💯💯💯💯

Breeders think most problems are genetic... Trainers think problems are training issues... The truth is that it is a combination. Get a dog that has a good temperment, then do the training. Why so many people put their family (and others) in danger and then claim ignorance is beyond me. He's right, there are signs! Quit ignoring them.

I am so luckyto live in a neighborhood where children are so used to dog and approach them only after they ask and ensure the dog is friendly. I have a very passive King Charles Cavalier and still kids always ask.

I agree with everything in this interview except dog attacking and mauling. I am a dog lover but once a dog tastes human blood from a vicious attack like that woman onstage it will never be the same and it is too late, it needs to be put down.

That is your opinion and I respect it. I have helped rehabilitate many dogs who have attacked humans through training, and they have been successful. It is a lot of work, no easy work is involved! But it can also be prevented through training with the proper system🤝

@@CaliK9DogTraining My opinion is based on facts due to the professional studies done on this subject along with experience. Any domestic animal has the potential to revert back to it's feral disposition. Training has nothing to do with it. I have seen completely docile trained dogs suddenly massacre another animal out of the blue. No one in their right mind would keep a dog like the one that mauled this poor woman ever around people again, especially children - I don't care how much "training" it received, it will always have the potential to attempt to kill again, and it is naive to believe otherwise. You can't train instinct -and unfortunately time will tell.

To be honest, I am the type of person who goes up to a stranger's dog and strokes it because dogs look cute lol but now I know that it is perhaps not the right thing to do.

I agree with most that he said. And then I heard him say Pitbulls were bread to fight. Pitbulls were bred as nannies for babies. They were baby caretakers and protectors.

@CaliK9DogTraining just subscribed! Love your Netflix show. Ty! We have 4 pitties, 2 chihuahuas, and one poodle mix we rescued. The poodle mix has so many behavior issies. Not sure what to do, but I'm gonna watch all your videos, and hopefully, she'll come around. Prayers for Roxy the baddie! 😆

Some outdated info here. BEHAVIORIST and behavior consultant are two different titles. I'm researching his education. I doubt he's a real behaviorist
