You speak with wonderful clarity and have a good rhythm for an American accent. Any typical American will be able to understand you without any heavy concentration, no problem. If you want to have an authentic sounding American accent though, I have a few pointers: -Work on connecting your words together more instead of chopping them up. I especially noticed it starting at 0:32, and to the end of the video. -American "r"s are always very strong, always at the front of the mouth, and ALWAYS pronounced. This is one of the biggest distinguishing factors between American, and other English accents wherein some "r"s are omitted (Australian, Standard British, etc.) -"Studying" sounds a like "stud-din" when you say it. It's a 3 syllable word, although we tend to brush past the "d" really quickly.Try to put a bit more emphasis on the "y" and the "g", but not too harshly. -"Three" sounds like "free" when you say it. Work on the unvoiced "th" sound." Put the tip of your tongue between your teeth and touch everything together lightly, then blow air at the point where your tongue and top teeth meet. -You say "Typical" as it is phonetically spelled ("ty-pih-cal"), but Americans more often pronounce it as "ty-pih-cuhl" -"You say "books" as it is phonetically spelled ("books" or "bukes"), but Americans more often pronounce it with a schwa. -Your pronunciation of "CDs" is almost correct. Just widen the "ee's" even more, so that it's very distinctly "Cee-Dee's." - "Difficult" sounds like "diffe-call." "Difficult" is as phonetically spelled, but with an almost omitted "t." Prepare your mouth to make a 't" sound, but stop the sound right before you do. ("Diffi-cuhl-[t]" ) -"American" sounds like "Uh-MEHR-ih-cuhn" when you say it. But Americans more often pronounce it as "Uh-MARE-ih-cuhn". -"Evaluate" sounds like "Ee-vary-ate" when you say it. Definitely work on your "L"'s. Curl the tip of your tongue up to the beginning of your hard palate. Also work on your long "U"'s, which are more of a dipthong "U" in American English than in other English dialects (a "Y"and a pure "U" mushed together to create one vowel. So it sounds like "yu" or "yew") Therefore, the American pronunciation is "Ee-VAL-yew-ate" -"Pronunciation" sounds like "pra-nu-syay-shun"when you say it. It should be "pruh-NOWN-cee-ay-shun" I hope this helped you. Wishing you the best! =)

This is a pretty late entry, but I just subscribed via your Japanese Lesson 1, so I wanted to check out your previous vids. Your English is very good...you are obviously very comfortable speaking it. I think the pace/stress of certain words, and tiny pronunciation differences make it obvious that English is not your first language. If I were just listening, I would be able to tell it stems from a Japanese base. However, it is definitely Americanized English, as opposed to British. As such, as a native English-speaking American, I would not necessarily be able to tell that you are NOT an American. One of the nice things, I feel, about the United States, is that we do have people from all over the world as citizens. We hear multiple different languages being used practically every day. So your speaking doesn't sound funny, or strange at all. Thanks for acting on your own curiosity! Your lessons on speaking Japanese like a native have been very informative. I've been struggling and laughing at my efforts, but I will prevail! :)

Your pronunciation is quite good, although it sounds a bit exaggerated haha. My biggest suggestion is to work on the "th" sound, as this is one of the things that native English speakers pick up on almost immediately when identifying non native accents. That said, your English is excellent, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. :-)

I think what is good is your inflection is in the right place in the sentence structure. Regarding how you're current English accent sounds, I think it's very clear, and your grammar is great. However, it still dies have a Japanese sound to it. You sound like you've lived in America for a while. So, out sounds like a Japanese American accent.
