Osaka is a large port city and commercial center on the Japanese island of Honshu. It's known for its modern architecture, nightlife and hearty street food.
Dōtonbori or Dōtombori (道頓堀, pronounced [doːtomboɾi]) is one of the principal tourist destinations in Osaka, Japan, running along the Dōtonbori canal from Dōtonboribashi Bridge to Nipponbashi Bridge in the Namba district of the city's Chuo ward. Historically a theater district, it is now a popular nightlife and entertainment area characterized by its eccentric atmosphere and large illuminated signboards.

Takoyaki (たこ焼き or 蛸焼) is a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special molded pan. It is typically filled with minced or diced octopus (tako), tempura scraps (tenkasu), pickled ginger, and green onion.Takoyaki are brushed with takoyaki sauce (similar to Worcestershire sauce) and mayonnaise, and then sprinkled with green laver (aonori) and shavings of dried bonito.

The worst part about this video is I have to wait a whole week to see a new one! I love this channel and have sworn off all other Japan videos cause they're either annoying, demeaning or no narration whatsoever. Paolo has done the complete opposite and have made each video tour engaging, optimistic and having Maiko there is a huge plus too. I seriously can't wait for my return trip to Japan after watching all these. I'm starting to watch the other ones again!

@@PaolofromTOKYO 2-3 videos would be absolute bonkers! haha. I would love to see more videos but really man, you deliver the quality and quality over quantity is king! We don't want you losing your voice again! While we're at it, I love the positivity and excitement! I seriously don't know why a network hasn't picked you and Maiko up to even do a segment! Also, I'd like to add that the intro is really cool too! I'm going back to binge watching, then looking at my old pics and vids and then back to more binge watching! hahaha!

I wish I'd seen this video before my trip to Japan. I was in Osaka for about 3 days and did hit some of the area up so I still enjoyed some great food (went out to Kobe for steak there, and it was outstanding)
Excited to return to Osaka and try these food!
Omg, the Katsudon looks too good to be true!
Thank you for the recommendations, Paolo! We are currently eating the Rikuro cheese cake although we got it from a different location. Dotonbori today was packed! Soooo packed. Anyway, we are all enjoying our dessert. 😊
I get so hungry every time I watch these videos. I love your channel, Paolo
Hi Paolo, Thank you so much for your videos, they are very helpful. Something that I need to know in much of your videos like this one if it's difficult to order food in these places if I don't speak Japanese!.
The food in Osaka is sooo good. I had a Kobe Beef Spicy Ramen on the street in Dotonbori and it was so good, I almost cried. Unbelievable. I was there for 4 days and tried to taste as many things as possible but there is just so much! I have to go back ..

I seriously just came back to Tokyo from Osaka! I ate lunch at Mizuno and took a Uncle Rikuro cake with me on the shinkansen 😂 Sadly I missed some food I now know about, because of this amazing video 😭
Excellent! Just in time as my bro is in Osaka for the marathon and is going to want to pig out afterwards!

That cheesecake is amazing.. I still dream about it cause I want another one again.. The first bite is incredible cause you don't know what to expect :D
I have been to Butaman and I agree it's delicious!
Went there last year. Cheesecake were delicious, of course we bought at front. Okonomiyaki were also delicious. And at late night we ate Korroke, that was cheap and delicious too.
I had RIkuro's cheesecake as my birthday cake last year, definitely planning on doing it again when I return this upcoming June! The "black takoyaki" tip is great--I tried Kukuru's regular takoyaki at one of the like three locations along the river walk and for some reason the one I went to was super empty, but never know if it's gonna be the same this time and either way the squid ink makes it more interesting!
Please make a video about the best Matcha places!😍🙏
二見の豚まん!Futami Butaman! Is it still there? wow...I have to grab it again. It's been 30, 40? years since I ate before. Oh, mouthwatering.
