Japan used the same design with three different manufactures in the early 90s before swapping to a kit with flames on the sleeves for the World Cup in 98.

I choose the flames 🔥😄 Looks really cool and eye catching
The 2nd design was actually first seen at the 1996 Kirin Cup against Yugoslavia and Mexico (made by Puma).
If you know Captain Tsubasa you probably know all the Japan shirts XD

I prefer the patterns but the reason they chosen blue is that because most of asian (far east) countries use too many red like China and South Korea. And back in 92/93 when J-League was launched Italy and Serie A was the best league in the world and they copied Azzurri.
