from personal experience, my pick for cars coming up instead of the R32 for the US market: 1. Evo 2-3 with front and rear LSD (a blast to drive, love it more then my Evo 10 and in between models I've owned) 2. R33 GTS-T or GT-R (rapidly going up though) Importing a R34 GT-R into the USA doesn't have to be illegal, there are a few models that are able to be imported into the USA directly through show and shine e.g. MNP2 V-Spec, N1 etc. Google it or get the list of importable show and shine vehicles. BTW, the pre 1989 import laws for Australia are about to be tweeked, Australia will be going head to head with the US market to import 25 year old cars soon. My pick of 90's JDM cars that will go up in value once they turn 25, and haven't taken off rapidly just yet: 1. Evo 1-3 (CD9A/CE9A GSR trim with front and rear LSD) 2. Rx-7 (FD3S) 3. Celica (ST205R) 4. Patrol 4.2TD (GQ/GU) 5. NSX (NA1)

You can import the V-spec R34 for show and display. But you have to modify it and only put 2500 miles on it in a year in the u.s. and you have to apply for it

Great job guys. A friend and I have become very interested in importing multiple vehicles for local re-sale, do you offer incentives or mark-up discounts for importing multiple vehicles or should we just go it alone? How many vehicles would you prefer to import at a time? Would you buy individual parts (and place them [not install] in an imported vehicle)? And finally, are there dealer rates at the auctions for packages of multiple vehicles (10+)? Thank you.

One thing people forget to mention is that when importing a rhd car to Canada it will be almost impossible to find an insurance company to insure you, especially in Ontario. Unless you want to pay the insane facility prices.

You touched on the restriction of importing a car into Canada or Mexico with the intention of driving it into the U.S. I'd like an expanded answer to this. Does this mean that, for example, I as a U.S. Citizen cannot import an R33GT-R into Canada, store it for few years, and then bring it over to the U.S. Once it passes 25yrs? Thank you.

About a similar car to the Skyline R32: the Nissan Laurel would be similar in size to the R32 and was a sister model for a long time. The C33 also featured the RB series engine, so technically it would be similar. I guess the target audience was more aimed towards automatics, and the car itself can't be called a sports car either... Also I guess most of the C33 manuals have been drift missile-ed up by now. Thanks for the new Q&A cast!

A question about registering an imported car in California. Looks like a 1975 imported car that was not for US market still requires a Certificate of Conformance. What if a car is registered in another state first, what are the odds of DMV still asking for the certificate? Can they check if it was imported or as far as they are concerned, it just comes from another state and since it is Exempt from smog check, they will just issue a title and registration, if the title from another state is in the same name?

My number one issue is the audio seems REALLY quiet to me. I'm forced to turn my computers volume up very high to hear the video well. The brings me to my second issue, audio quality. With me turning up the volume so high I get to hear all of the high noise backing your videos. A few good lav mics will do a lot of good for your guys. lastly, you don't necessarily need a camera pointed at you for this style of video. I'd prefer a podcast style with a simple title card showing some sort of picture something relevant to the videos subject. I enjoy having something in the background while I do my homework or search around the web. Awesome stuff as always!

Can you throw some ballpark estimates of how much cars you deal to Europe, Middle-East, Russia and Africa? Are there any "regional favorites". i.e are there any cars that are really popular in specific markets? (like r32's for Americans ;D)

what price would a same car be sold for if you where to buy it in Japan vs importing a car into Canada/United states. not including specific province/state inspection process costs. just curious how much a person in Japan would pay and how much valve these cars hold over there. also curious if the people of Japan have ruffly the same wages as the ones over in north america. like if a r32 GTR for example would be a pricy item or not to them. (using the r32 gtr as an example as it has become the staple import most people know).

For the question regarding if you can import R34 GTRs into the US - you actually can legally import one of 300 midnight purple special edition R34 GTRs under the Show or Display law. Only problem is that you can only drive it up to 2,500 miles a year. There are also about 10-15 federally legal R34 GTRs in the country due to a "loophole" caused by a company called Motorex that has since been closed.

There were three R34s that came in this summer that were testing that theory but they all seemed to disappeared from the internet. You would think people would be excited to show them off and car-new outlets would be chomping at the bit to get coverage... but three months later and nothing. Until someone has successfully imported on under one of these exceptions, I won't believe it.

No plans to modified it, will keep it stock. Went through DMV, paid all fees. Inspector referred me to CHP. CHP referred me to another agency. Where does it stop? Hey guys, I live in Florida. And I have a few questions regarding my state only. Most questions people ask are related to California laws, but Florida doesn't have the emissions standard, so I assume it would make it easier. 1) Are all your cars sold in a single money transfer, or is there any arrangement for a person to make payments like financing and such? 2) I heard that if the same car was sold here, that it should be easier to import. But if I wanted to import a 2000 JDM Subaru Impreza WRX STI, would I be able to, since we had a similar chassis with the 98-01 USDM Subaru Impreza 2.5RS? 3) Have you guys heard of Japan Partner (japan-partner.com)? If so, how do you guys differ from them?

Bruno Pires I could be wrong. and someone might correct me but even if a car is sold here. to import still has to be 25 years or older. since they have different saftey standards and stuff in Japan and other countries. it's that way for alot of bmws and even civics ive seen that ppl couldn't import bc they wernt 25 years old. it sucks but it's the way it is

    1) I thought maybe you are exaggerating on the process to get Lic. but I can see it is more strict in bigger city. So I think it is fair to just say "It depends on where the person lives". 2) There are express ways with digital speed limit signs and some section or during a particular time of day can read blank; meaning there is no speed limit. 3) Some cars in the USA that is not legal at the moment maybe was imported before the USA crackdown years ago. I know because my auto shop teacher found a R33 in the USA back in 2006 and was not on the black list and was imported before the USA got strict after a certain company ruined it for everyone. It is State and Federally street legal.

Harry Tran that doesn't matter. if it is already registered somewhere and it's not a new import or not old enough you can't do it by law. I have an example of Israel (where I live), we can't import cars if they are older then 2 yrs or newer then 30 which means even if I have a 2012 Subaru WRX here and I want to import another one just like that which is 3 y.o. I just can't do it (the customs won't let it in). even more I can't import a car with right hand and even if it was changed to left from original right, the car also is not allowed to pass not depend on the production date.

I liked the format a lot, but keep it a bit shorter. I started to skip stuff after 20 minutes or so...

Most people have the attention span of a 2 year old... not trying to be a smart a** or make fun of anyone, but shorter videos tend to do a better view wise. KZread rewards better for 10+ minutes videos, so try to keep them longer then 10 minutes. With all that being said I like seeing the longer videos, of course that is just my personal outlook on it.
