South Carolina is also great too because even if you pay for a Bugatti, the most sales tax the DMV can charge you is 10% up to $300, so if you bought a 3 million dollar car you only have to pay $300 maximum, and there is no emissions testing. The only thing you have to worry about is Insurance, which in this state is relatively cheap. Edit: Reading the comments, South Carolina also doesn't require a front plate, just rear plates. For instance where I live (tucson) you have to pass emissions but if you go literally 10 minutes down the road outside the city you no longer have to pass any emissions. Its the same in most rural areas. It would be illegal to claim an address that isnt yours but you could do the same LLC method in the video.

When my friends couldn't keep the trailer there any more, I moved my trailer to my daughter's house in New Hampshire and started staying there on the weekends to help her out since she's disabled. I then changed my mailing address to her house, got NH plates, and then notified my insurance company of the move. I was amazed that my insurance in NH is only a third of MA. I still live in the rented room during the week but go to my daughters house on the weekends. And since I'm a contractor living over 100 miles from where I work, I can pull per diem and make some serious money.

In addition, if your light vehicle is 11 years or older, you can register a permanent registration. Edit: also, back in the 90s, Montana had no speed limit. They used to have signs that say "reasonable and prudent speed". Edit2: also nice easter egg on the thumbnail license plate! 406 is the only area code in Montana.

It's not just "rich people." Anyone can do it if you live in an area with unreasonably high taxes. It's even easier if you live in a military town because almost everyone has an out of state tag so "Johnny Law" doesn't bat an eye at a car tagged in Oklahoma that's frequently driving around in central Kansas. I may or may not have done this as a form of protest for our local 10% sales tax on ALL purchases including vehicles. Sorry Government, but I'm not paying $2300 in taxes +$400 in registration fees on my modest used vehicle, plus the outrageous $300 annual property tax/renewal fees on that same vehicle. I paid only $970 for EVERYTHING in a neighboring state, & my annual renewal is only $80. I pay that same amount to tag my 1990 Jeep in my home state.. The major takeaway from this video should be taxes suck, and we pay the Gov WAY too much of our hard earned dough, & get nothing, but hassled in return.

As a life agent studying for P&C right now, I can say that's illegal for an insurer to refuse to pay claims because a car is driven in another state. The only exceptions would be if a shell company is used to make it look like a company car (New Hampshire company car driven in CA is obviously not driven for company use -> no claim paid). Otherwise, a company policy on a car for company use WOULD be paid out even if driven in another state. Personal policies will pay the minimum of rates in the state the issue occurred, maximum of whatever coverage was purchased, at no additional cost. Also it is illegal to falsify your address and say you live in another state. Since you have to update your address, the insurer will always know where you live; however, purchasing insurance from a New Hampshire company and providing your CA address is entirely legal. It is up to the pools these insurers belong to consider geographics & determine your final rates.

@@Riloo But only Bulgaria , Romania , Greece and Croatia are in E.U. ...Greece and Croatia have too much taxes and Romania have bigger taxes for bigger engines . So Bulgaria is the cheapest in E.U. You need an E.U. member car plates and even so your car plates needs to be registered on a non Danish entity in order for "Skad" (Danish God like car related anything )not to take your car ...also from time to time you have to go to Germany or Sweden put some gas , keep the receipt and if Danish nazzi police stopes you , you just say that the owner of the car lives in that city where you put the gas and show them the receipt. Also it is a good ideea to have a notarial paper work that shows that you are entitled to drive that car ! Danish laws are strange !!!

I think there's some states that don't require insurance as long as you can prove financial responsibility, also some insurance companies will insure on the vin number if it has no title. Like sometimes you might see a car with not for hire written on the plate, and no I'm not talking about taxi cabs! :) but that's a whole new rabbit hole to go down.
