So the staff would likely be about the length of a Katana, or maybe a tad bit longer, while the chain seems to be about four feet in length.

The length of the chain is dictated by the length of the staff, normally the staff is the hanbo (3ft) and the chain can hide inside the shaft, this is the first time iv seen it paired with a jo (5ft staff)

If used in actual combat? How much weight does it require for the weights at the end of the chain be effective against the opponent? And if it is any more heavier than that one on the video, could you actually use it that way? Wouldn't it be hard to swing it like that? This is really an interesting weapon.

You actually don't need a lot of weight to the flail to make it deadly. Look at the rope dart or mietior hammer for example

@Jose Ojeda nope, it generates a lot more force because of the momentum. Take a sling for example. You can throw a rock pretty hard but with a sling, you can effectively make the rock a bullet, hence the name "sling bullets".

@Jose Ojeda rope-like weapons have the benefit of winding up, which generates more force than you could ever hope to punch with.

But by Chain weapons are the Structure removed this is why you shouldn't chain weapons overate, Definitively not that one with light hitting ends . I think rope Darts aren't good weapons If you mean the winding up on other Objekts ? After my knowledge it reduce power.

@@auturgicflosculator2183 The Rope dart isnt such a good weapon in general if you swing it arround it dosnt have deep penetration eve if you hit the enemy then you are most likely connected to the enemy!

@@ninjadragonblade NO WAY that staff is 5 feet long! Looks like 3 ft at most! check @0:11 Interestingly, the unchained end appears to have a fitted steel pointed cap for effecting "thrusting" techniques.

Anyone knows the lenght of staff or chain?
