Devin can transform any moment into a musical/comedy performance, even if he's overwhelmed and stressed out of his mind. I wonder whether he finds it a bit less difficult to decompress from NAMM nowadays or just the same, but i wish him the best anyway. He's an absolute treasure. ❤

@@denverrandy7143 Nice picks! Genesis certainly isn't usually an early pick for people, it kind of is an amalgamation of the different styles he covered over the years so it's kind of all over the place. So if there were parts that you liked, there's probably albums out there in that style :D Some other nice introduction songs (I usually prefer his live versions): * Failure - at Plovdiv * Deadhead - at Royal Albert Hall * Higher! - at Plovdiv and if you want to take an album deep plunge, google for "Devin Townsend Flowchart" and check that out. It's a bit outdated, missing some of the newer albums, but it's a good start! (PS. My favorite listen is the "holy trinity" - Funeral, Bastard and Death of Music at Royal Albert Hall)

NAMM 2024. The dying remnants of a dying industry where all get together to celebrate their inadequacies and their relationships with their fathers and rendering themselves emotionally incapable in dealing with anything other than validations from strangers, indeed.

Poor Devin lol. He’s so talented but he was at the mercy of both the noise of NAMM and of a moody acoustic guitar yikes. I can speak from experience that when acoustic strings are brand new but haven’t been stretched yet, tuning per string can change frustratingly quick. Devin is an amazing musician and handled this well lol.
