Rachael Ades I think that it was also partially because the lawyers made it seem like she didn't want the baby (after being pregnant for a while) but she realized that she loves the baby. I'm not trying to sound mean I just think that's part of the reason.

Petra/Rose( i don't remember) told her and she decided not to go with it). This was in the series. Luisa was not allowed to see mateo for 4 seasons because jane didn't like it

All I’m saying is part of the reason she withdrew was bc when she was in court they mentioned how Jane didn’t want the baby, but she realized that she loved Mateo and did want the baby. She didn’t regret getting pregnant and all the lawyers made it seem like she did.

I feel like every show needs a narrator like the one in Jane the Virgin.

I hate it because artificial insemination is like thousands and thousands of dollars and not something that is done casually, ever, due to the cost involved alone. Its SO different from a pap smear that its ridiculous to imply the two can ever be mixed up too.

Jane the Virgin can seem a little bizarre because it has the structure of a Latin Telenovela! Which is something Latinos enjoy a lot and it makes it even more hilarious ‘cuz it’s in English 😂😂 Edit: yes, I am aware that *not all* Latinos watch telenovelas nor enjoy them. The comment is supposed to be generic. Also, it’s an American telenovela but has elements from Latin telenovelas, which I know it’s like the whole point, but what’s interesting is the way the show plays with those elements.

Henn essy its like a super dramatic, kind of burlesque, (usually) latinx centered soap opera. and a lot of the time its based off of a novel, or novela, hence the name telenovela

True, I felt the same. But at least he had some real trauma and amnesia as an excuse. I was much more pissed off by Rafael during the last season. Throughout the whole show he keeps pushing Jane away for the dumbest reasons but then gets all jealous and upset and "I cAn'T tRuSt yOu aNymOre" because she actually needs some time to process that her freaking husband came back from the dead??

The reason it's such a good show is because it's structured like a telenovela in English, so it's meant to be overdramatic and slightly confusing. It also helps that all the characters were really well made, except for maybe Rose who's character is just "psychopath." I also really like how they made it look like Petra was the main villain at the beginning, just to show that Rose is the real villain later as Petra starts becoming a better person and realizing what a crappy person her mom is.

Jane the virgin ended two weeks ago and I can tell it’s the best American telenovela ever! I recommend you watching Betty la fea but the original Colombian version.

The reason that Jane the Virgin is over the top is bc its a telenovela(soap opera)

Its a telenovela, so the plot lines are crazy. I personally love them but I get its not for everyone

Season 5 sucks so far

The only bad part about this show is the mf recap before every episode like IVE BEEN BINGE WATCHING THIS SHOW FOR 9 HOURS I ALREADY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED edit: lol i really didn't expect this to get many likes and yes I do know you can skip it on Netflix but I don't know the password so i watched the whole thing on myflixer

Petra I think was the best character out of everyone in the show. At first, she’s made out to be a villain, but a very complex one at that. She has sympathetic motivations in the beginning because she’s been through so much in her life and just needs to survive. Because before Rafael, all she’s known is to survive. But when Rafael is done with her, she lashes out and turns back to survival mode. And she changes throughout the show and definitely has had the most character development out of anyone. By the end, she’s a much better person who really just needed help and better people.

I cant even DESCRIBE how much this show has changed my life, and how much I love it.

i binged the whole thing and it was so good and i’m really mad because i finished it. comes out february 19th thank me later

Brianna Lee I think I stopped watching after Jane gave birth to her son and her son was kidnapped. I just never followed up afterwards for whatever reason.

same, i binged it and then just stopped at some point haha, idk why either..but i guess one of the reason was that i actually really liked mike and ..the blond ex-gf..and wanted them to be fucking happy too, and the narration was strongly hinting mike would die (even tho i doubt they did that)..

Well after the first episode, it becomes much more interesting... and murdery.

I'm obsessed with the Jane the virgin. This is in my first list on Netflix. Even my mail I'd asked me to watch it again and I won't lie I watched Jane the virgin 3 times in a year and 2 times in 4 months. It feels like I'm Jane and it's my family. I mostly like her lists, lots of lists and they way she manage her professional life personal life romance and job I loved it. I love Jane the virgin and most Rafael and sin rostro too. ❤

I have probably rewatched this show more than I'd like to admit.

I love Jane the Virgin! I can’t wait for season 5!

I’m so happy that Alex meters gave this show a good look! I absolutely loved this series but you need to talk about Petra! Petra probably has the most character development in this show then anyone else.

Oh i know i was first team Rafael in the first episode but he had wayy too many issues and was borderline obsessive and then, i was team micheal and i was team adam for a bit but he left so that was sad. But the jason thing happened which was devastating and I also think she shouldn't have ended up with rafael

The best part was when her mom Xiomara started screaming 'Immaculata!' in the clinic

This makes me want to watch the show all over again. It’s so good and I feel like I haven’t found anything quite that good since

THIS VERY VIDEO is what made me give this show a chance. And boy, am I glad that I did. I actually woke up members of my household who came running to see if I was hurt- because I was laughing so hysterically they thought I was in pain! I mean, straight out of a telenovela, right?!
