The defendant got 19 years in prison.

That man literally cut that young woman in half. So heartbreaking 💔 I can't imagine what she went through to recover

WOW this young woman, so beautiful, smart, talented and just about the most brave and inspirational young woman I've ever heard about. It's obvious she comes from a remarkable family too. Her strength, courage, acceptance of such an horrific crash that altered her life will not ever keep her from being all she can be and I know that will be something amazing. God bless you Janae .

Can’t even imagine the horror this beautiful young lady and her parents went through all because of another selfish idiot behind the wheel of a deadly weapon. Kim Gardner should also rot in prison with him for not putting him away sooner. May you have a beautiful happy successful life going forward young lady.

Sue the city of Saint Louis get your compensation. That's all you can do. Whats done is already done. Riley will go on to serve his time and be released but he will walk the streets again.

Getting sentenced April 18... Let's see what justice has to say... She's maimed for life... And Daniel Riley had 3 illegal substances in his blood... And had violated parole (Electronic monitoring) over 60 times... This horrific accident was easily avoided... And on top of everything Daniel Riley was out on Robbery charges... Let's see what justice looks like in 2024... Janae Edmonson deserved better... She deserves better... And it's my understanding that the city of St. Louis has postponed the civil trial for one year... The St. Louis governing body needs to take account... And to everyone explain where they are taking this once great gateway city...

I can't even begin to imagine the pain of this girl and her family. What she went through was absolutely excruciating😔😔 I hope and pray that she will one day be able to play her sports again🙏🙏🙏🙏 I pray that she will get used to her prosthetics and be able to do all that she could do before. She is so beautiful and strong, and she will do great things in her life💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

I know she will do GREAT things in her life. But so sad to have to go through something so traumatic like this to change the trajectory of her life as a volleyball player. I love that she’s a manager now for her team. ❤❤❤
