I can tel you one thing. I heard of Jamiroquai from my cousin. I was in college, and he was over in London running track. This was in 1991/92. He knew I was a musician. He sent me a cassette tape he bought when he went to hear this group at some club he went out to. This cassette tape turned out to have 6 songs on it. This cassette tape was a demo tape and it had written on it “Emergency on Planet Earth “ and on the second line it had “Jamiroquai/Jay K”. Both in red marker. Along with the cassette tape was a letter from my cousin and it said, “hey, cuz. Hope you’re staying focused on school. Went out a few nights ago. Heard this band. These white boys are band. London has a whole new scene you would love over here. White people actually are playing the funk, and you wouldn’t know the difference. I know how you are with your music. I bought this for $5 bucks so you owe me!!! Hope you enjoy. Tell my aunt and uncle he’ll and hopefully I’ll be going to Italy this summer (Barcelona Olympics 1992). Love you cuz” I still have the tape, and the letter! No one in America knew who they were, and thanks to my big cuz, I was fortunate to hear their raw foundation and have bought everything Jamiroquai since

Can’t wait for you to go down the Jamiroquai rabbit hole. One of my fave bands. Stuart Zender, amazing bassist. Their bassist now, Paul Turner is a monster too. Jamiroquai is a blend of acid jazz, electronica, dance music, funk, pysechedlia, RnB - Jay Kay is a master showman too. Excellent musicians.

💖Love Jamiroquai, especially their first three albums. An iconic band with excellent musicians.

I’m obsessed with Jamiroquai and this song 💛

Classic Zender, McKenzie and Smith rhythm section. You can’t think of each of their lines without thinking of the other two.

When I first heard Canned Heat (from Jamiroquai's Canned Heat album) way back in 1999, I thought I had heard the song before. I had been brought up in LA and my mother would have the the jazz station KBCA, Los Angeles on all day especially on a Sunday. There was a funk hour in the evening and I really liked it. So, I felt like I was tripping out on something when I found out Canned Heat was a new and original song. I instantly became a Jamiroquai fan. I've seen them three times in concert. I have to say the drummer, Derek, and the percussionist, Sola, are my favourite guys in the group. xxx

Other people have said it, but really, the official video for virtual insanity, but there's also a live show in the rain in Italy that is amazing start to finish. Just trust me.

you should definitely react to 'virtual insanity' one of their biggest hits, it may sound familiar to you also great message in the song, still relevant to this day, the band made incredibly funky soulful smooth tracks that always had a conscious message behind it, also i read the name jamiroquai came from putting the word 'jam' and 'iroquois' which is an indigenous confederacy, they love indigenous culture :)

The video for the song, Virtual Insanity is probably one of the most distinctive and iconic of the 90's.

My absolute favourite...off a great album.

I could never say the name right. They had a hit in the 90s with "Virtual Insanity". Glad this was requested, so I could also get to know more of their songs. I always thought that Jamiroquai was the singers name and not a band.

'Blue Skies' and 'lifeline' are great.

Jam ear o kwhy is a an acid jazz group from the mid nineties . They have quite a few more commercial hits (Virtual Insanity , Canned Heat , Alright). The front man and head writer Jay Kay is a great talent. You should listen to some of their bigger hits (won't regret). great show

"Return Of The Space Cowboy" is a nice one as well, please check out that. :) They have done live cover version on both Roxy Music's "Love Is The Drug" and Donna Summer's "Bad Girls" as well. The singer Jay (Jason) Kay and drummer Derrick McKenzie are the original members left nowadays. Unfortunately the bassist Stuart Zender went in loggerheads with Kay over the amount of creative input in spite of that Zender got writing credits to several songs during the time he was in the band.

Actually, Derrick is not an original member. Can't remember if he joined during recording the second album or during the tour for the first album.

Check out Jamiroquai’s concert in Verona, Italy. The rain is pouring down the whole concert, but the band is having a blast (I think it’s their best live performance) and the crowd is just singing and dancing. My favorite track is “Cosmic Girl”, but you can’t go wrong. And please do some more Dirty Loops!

There's a great modern band called King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (KGATLW for short), you should definitely check them out, I think you would love them! Their album Polygondwanaland was released for free, so you probably won't run into any problems with DMCA as well Songs I recommend from that album are: Crumbling Castle, Polygondwanaland, Horology P.S. before fellow fans eat me alive, I'd like to say the whole album is amazing and should be listened from start to end in one sitting

@@NoCanDu I never got to see them live in the 90’s (one of my many regrets in life lol) seen them live quite a few time this century though. My go to album is ‘The return of the space cowboy’ for me, that’s my favourite era of the band

Awesome group. Not sure why everyone gravitates to Space Cowboy though. I would strongly suggest some other cuts: Time won’t wait Two completely different things Seven days in sunny June Manifest destiny Oh and i saw them live before they signed with Sony, hadn’t even released their first album at that time. JK was just a kid..

This has no contender at all... not even in the Jamiroquai repertuoir.
