I remember seeing that when I was 12 I think. I'm not from the UK and I couldn't speak English back then but I managed to make the trifle and it has become my favourite recipe ever since. I would make it for my friends and family and every time I was invited some place I was told to bring my trifle. Thank you for uploading this gem again 😊

Quelle horreur! lol this is very funny looking back, I wonder what Jamie would think of this these days! I was actually looking for a 'traditional' recipe like me mum made, but didn't realise how far ahead of her time she was. Homemade custard (no, not the powdered stuff!), homemade sponge, cream, fresh fruit, no jelly, sometimes (dry) sherry, roasted almonds, I think that was all. Totally delicious. This is another thing all together.

A dreadful thing this trifle…just like I remember they were all at that time!But Jamie was cute and fun and fortunately his recipes have evolved! Hope he forgive me. I love his recipes
