He rose from being an intern to CEO, rising from the filing room in 2001 to the CEO suite in 2008. Today he controls more than $1.8 billion. He is James Mworia, CEO of Centum Investments. James joins CNBC Africa’s Charles Gitonga to reveal his journey to success.

    This is what we need. People with your skills that know how to build industries, how to build teams, raise capital and compete on a global market. Please tell me you are mentoring and teaching your knowledge to the people behind you - because the more people like you that we have in Africa, the better off we will be as Africans, but you can't do it alone as a unicorn.
