It's because 90% of media/entertainment is American. Most movies and TV shows are American, and I'm sure in their country they air their own content more frequently, so all they ever hear is their own accent. Day in, day out, TV, movies, even most singers worldwide sing with an 'Americanised' accent. Whereas us around the rest of the world grow up being used to our own accents, and also theirs, and learn early on that 'oh, other accents exist beside my own'. Also Americans are kind of renowned for being a little ignorant and believing that the USA is the whole world...

I adore James McAvoy. Good soul, kind, witty, and a lovely sense of humor. Those blue eyes aren’t too bad, either. Press on James...that Oscar isn’t too far off. 👍

James McAvoy deserved an Oscar for his performance in "*FILTH*" If you haven't seen the film I highly recommend that.

SimonCleric Sarah Paulson has relatively few movie roles, mostly sticking to television as far as I know. She’s great in 12 Years A Slave but otherwise her film roles are limited. There’s no excuse for McAvoy, though.
