Brilliant tune🙌love the atmosphere of it and the vocals and arrangements, its a reminder theres good music still and theres hope because this is the standard, very reminiscent of quality vocals in rock in 90s, keep it up James 💯 🙌 i like the content about oasis etc too👍

You should get people to send in their tracks to you (unsigned bands) and review them. Would give great coverage and add to your already brilliant KZread videos. Maybe every month or something. 😃👍

This would be an amazing track if you altered lines 2 and 4 of the chorus. I don’t think you quite get away with repeating that one line so many times in a row. Perhaps you could do a version 2 also with the guitar a little higher in the mix and with a touch of drive on it? I think you could have an indie hit on your hands, the melody is definitely an ear worm.

Great track, love the drumming not being totally on the grid like everything is nowadays. Sounds real. Nice work!

Yeah, we chose to keep it natural and free. I know digital purists might not like that... but I do haha I think you lose some of Adam's natural groove and swing when you lock it into a grid, so we've kept it soulful and un-tampered-with :)

Great video. This song and "Girl On The Other Side Of The Room" are my favourite songs from the album. Love the into to the song, great guitar and drumming throughout this track

Hi James, big fan of your channel, I finally had a chance to listen to all your music on Spotify including your new album. I think your album is fantastic with no fillers for the songs. Yes maybe show not so subtle references to your musical influences but the chord progressions and the guitar playing are top notch! I know it’s the most ballad personal song but love “On the Day you came to be” which can imagine being sung by all the audience. Thanks for keeping the live music scene alive 👏

Definitely my favourite song from the album, I think the drumming is honestly my favourite part but the guitars are really nice too, great work man!!!

You and your band smashed it James. The guitar has that U2 Delay which is incredible and your voice is amazing kinda like a combo of James dean bradfield, Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft in other words, it’s so britpop but more modern. Such a jam ❤❤❤

Absolute banger this!! I definitely listen to this more often than any other song on Onwards and Upwards 👌

@@JamesHargreavesGuitar doesn’t sound anything like the Stone Roses, but it’s good regardless. It’s more of an easy listening vibe compared to the guitar bands you love, because the guitar is so low in the mix here.

Great chorus

In respect of James's Theories, i think this song is clearly about A.i. Love Robots. Its all there in the lyrics, especially if you make anagrams out of them. Nice tune, and vocals, good stuff ✌️

This reminds me on my first Richard Dawson experience. When I first heard him, I found his singing voice really annoying, but when I got used to it, I realized how perfectly his songwriting is tailored to his voice. The same here, when I heard the song for the first time this morning, I wasn't very impressed by your singing, but then this "she makes no demands of me" chorus line stuck in my head for the rest of the day and when I listen to it again now, I think that it's that specific sound of your voice, that makes this song works so well.

It's a great track! I've not heard any of your own music before, so this is pretty damn interesting. It's kinda reminding me of Johnny Marr's solo stuff. 🎸
