What an impressive story! Roman, you are a great story teller and even though I generally watch RCR for the funny commentary about various cars I find that you have a knack for giving insight into mysteries of the past.

No curse there. Peak race car drivers, the most dominant in their sport, drive just that much more insane than the regular drivers, so they die at a higher rate. It's almost like everyone else is already running at the ragged edge, and pushing it just a little farther isn't good for lifespan?

Dean was that eras brad pitt. Imagine if brad died like Paul walker. Or Paul walker is a good example. but being a car guy we all know that tires have date codes for reasons and they lose their bond after a few years. You never use old tires. Case in point, Paul Walker. Tires would be like the big wheel hard plastic tires. Not much traction. and when only a index card size patch is in contact with road at any time, it better be a great tire.

After disappearing, the car was restored by a man named... James Dean. The former engine was replaced by an L30 Straight six with triple Weber carbs and twin turbos, bored out to 3.1 liters. The newly named "Devil Bastard" made over 600hp, and it still races on the Wa- California highways to this day. Its only rival is a black Porsche 911 Turbo, known to California street racers only as "Blackbird."

Yes, I know. I was trying to be constructive in my criticism. It's one thing to say "hey my pronunciation of a car company is wrong, but that's how we say it in , so deal with it", it's another thing to talk about a specific individual, and pronounce their name wrong.

+Jason Gotcha. _You_ get it. It still amazes me that so many do not. It's such a simple thing to pronounce an easily pronounceable name correctly. Yet so many don't. I suppose it's just sheer ignorance. We can educate though and will continue to do so.

Wolfe Barnato subsequently commissioned a 'Corsica' style coachwork on new Bentley, celebrating that event that caught global media attention. What a great piece. Please don't worry too much about the length of the stories you want to tell. In no way did this feel like a rant or ramble. It is always important to edit, cut and, make your points concise but, I suggest keep following the stories while not sacrificing the depth or your insights for arbitrary time constraints. To date, I have yet to watched one of your long form video essays and thought, "this is too long" The opposite. Like Thomas Keller said, paraphrasing here, " I always want someone to take the last bite of a dish and want just one more" These new long stories leave me with that feeling of wanting a bit more, which is perfect. I think this feeling I experience, is a good sign, that you don't need to worry about their length. That said, I have at least a couple run on sentences in this comment so, take what I say with a grain of salt. Cheers!

I grew up in Fairmount, where Dean is from. For those interested, they have a car show in his honor every September. The same weekend, Gas City also has a car show (about 10 minutes north), and Jonesboro (right next to Gas City) has a motorcycle show. It makes for a great weekend for automotive enthusiasts. Marion occasionally tries to do something to ride the coattails of Fairmount/Gas City/Jonesboro, claiming the "he was born in Marion" line- but let's face it- nearly everyone born in Grant County was "born" in Marion- that's where the hospital is. Otherwise, Marion is a wasteland full of meth, run-down houses, and rot.
