I hope one day, if these two don't make a film together on their own, I would LOVE for one if not BOTH of these two to produce and/or direct a YA post-apocalyptic dystopian novel trilogy I'm writing! I would want a director who has the talent to perfectly blend science fiction, visual spectacle, and scientific accuracy together and these two would be the right choice for me, especially Cameron, seeing what he has done with Avatar 1 & 2, and Terminator 1&2!

Spinge well... what makes guys like this great, and this goes for any successful filmmaker, is that what they do takes a lot of talent, imagination, but also leadership, courage, but above all what makes them great is that they had the balls and belief to follow their dreams, and they inspire others to do the same. Movies to me have always been more than a way to spend a few hours, and both Cameron and Spielberg have created moviegoing experiences that were simply incredible and overwhelming, and some of the most exciting events of my life. That's why I have huge respect and gratitude for guys like them, and there are many other directors in the same vein.

Spielberg finds a way to deflect the praise of him to other greats, then focuses it on his friend Kubrick, and transitions from that to the film they made together in order to satisfy the purpose of the interview. Humility in action.

He does that every time. Whenever someone praises him, his first reaction is to praise back the writer, or the actor, or the assistant ... must feel good to work for him.

I noticed that, too and I liked that he did that. That kind of humility that he has is really refreshing and I always make sure that I have that kind of humility, too. It( humility) is a great check and balance on ego. I can't remember who said it( and it might have been Tom Hanks) but someone said that Steven Spielberg is more like a guy who works for Steven Spielberg.

Man, do I wish Cameron could have had Kubrick on as a guest! I remember reading somewhere that they met one time after True Lies was released (so sometime between 1994 and 1999). I would give a kidney to hear what they talked about. I'd like to hear Kubrick's opinion on basically every good movie ever released, but I'd particularly would have loved to known Kubrick's thoughts on T1 and T2.
@gpapa31

Knowing Kubrick’s style and tendencies on filmmaking I think he would most likely love T1, it’s darker, with Noir sci-fi horror vibes project. T2 exceptional as it is it’s a high cylinder action popcorn Hollywood blockbuster. I am not sure it would be up his alley, I could be wrong.

MrHEC381991 yeah it was Hitchcock as he was very good friends with Kubrick as Spielberg mentions after meeting him on the set of the shining but with Alfred Steven actually snuck on to 2 of his sets once when he was 16 after he found his way onto the backlot of universal studios Hollywood and was on the set of torn curtain and was thrown off after 5 minutes and the next was just after Jaws had been released and he attempted the same thing again on the set of Alfred’s last movie which was family plot and he was again thrown off which in hindsight is funny af.
