I'm with you on this one! Those who are still around can appreciate it now.
I was really into James Brown in the 60s and I saw he was coming to Cleveland. I bought tickets for me and my girlfriend and my sister and a foreign exchange student we had living with us for a year. She was from Sweden. I was 16 and somebody said something to me about being white. And I said what difference does that make, so we went to the concert. We were the only four white people there in the whole audience. I didn't care. We had a great time and danced our asses off. James Brown was fantastic, always on that backbeat. We got hassled a little bit after the concert but some nice black guys took care of it. What a night.

Yeah I got some words back then as well, but never any violence. Back in the 1960s democrats were giving blacks a hell of a lot of sh*t, killing their leaders and oppressing the F out of them and blacks felt people like James Brown was a refuge for them, he was theirs and any white people there were seen as a threat to that, but they NEVER got violent towards whites on the level the democrats did. I don't live in the USA anymore but I absolutely detest what the media has done to protect the democratic party, lying to people what that party is all about and I find it disgusting they are still around to this day. To quote Lt. Nate Gringsby, Civil war vet and friend of Abe Lincoln: "Through this inscription I wish to enter my dying protest against what is called the Democratic party. I have watched it closely since the days of Jackson, and know that all the misfortunes of our nation has come to it through this so called party, therefore beware of this party of treason."

@@Bickle121 Yes, James Brown Changed per Wikipedia: for most of his career, Brown had a strict drug- and alcohol-free policy for any member in his entourage, including band members, and would fire people who disobeyed orders, particularly those who used or abused drugs. Although early members of the Famous Flames were fired for using alcohol, Brown often served a highball consisting of Delaware Punch and moonshine at his St. Albans, Queens house in the mid-1960s. Some of the original members of Brown's 1970s band, the J.B.'s, including Catfish and Bootsy Collins, intentionally took LSD during a performance in 1971, causing Brown to fire them after the show because he had suspected them of being on drugs all along. Take care!

James Brown was a musical genius who was deftly able to meld various musical genres such as funk, pop, jazz, soul, and disco into one. His greatness and contributions to music cast a shadow to this day.

Precisely. All musical genres blended into one potent mix! How he did it only he and his orchestra can say but I can safely vouch that it must have taken loads of hard work and long enduring hours to come up with such an extravaganza.I wonder if JB and Miles Davies ever met because their geniuses were paralleled.
