Maceo’s solo on Prisoner Of Love is nothing short of brilliant, as is the dancing during Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag. One of my favourite live performances from James Brown.

James Brown is indeed the first to have developed and invented the rhythm and this Soul-Funk groove, which will then inspire countless artists including Rap. James Brown is the King of Soul, father of Funk and spiritual father of M.Jackson and Prince and the most plundered and sampled artist in the world, with among others Funky Drummer, the drum rhythm, the monstrous groove that will inspire thousands of musicians. I saw James Brown on stage 10 times in Paris, from 1984 to 2004, a nuclear bomb with the presence of his still unrivaled musicians, see Macéo Parker etc. James Brown is and remains the greatest performer on stage (and in the studio), which Mick Jagger and many others will say. Not to mention his very active activities in politics for the defense of black people in the USA (with Sam Cook). He is the only artist and Icon of the black people in the United States, and in a certain way in the world. He's the Boss. I have almost all the James Brown albums with old instrumental vinyls as well, and Mind Power in the JB Paybak album from 73 has an incredible groove with wah wah guitar.
Simply amazing! James Brown a true music genius, RIP LEGEND! 👑🙏

To be more specific, the song at 13:45 is “The King” and I’m sure you have heard it before. It is kinda rearranged/sped up and I love the original song because it was one of the first JB songs that I listened to when I was a kid. The one at 14:48 is the one that I don’t know its title but I know they first performed it in ‘84 and I like it too.

This concert was around the end of a rough few years for him
カッコいい 恐ろしくカッコいい 登場まで19分以上かかり 途中休憩も挟む しかし、なんだ、 このカッコよさ もう体が勝手に動き出した 最後にオーサカの厚生年金会館で観たのが最後になるとは、、、、
Fenomenal ❤
Irreplaceable, a dynasty should have been built from this combination❤💯.....In the History of the World.
Fantastic superb
Hell yeah 🎶🎶🎶
1:23 Maceo's rendition of Soul Power 74 is incredible here!

It's fine, but the band performed this song much better than this in the 90s and the '00s. The sound of the drums does not fit with this song, maybe too much compressed? The guitar and bass were too low here though.

@@josephellis6697Agree to disagree ig, the later renditions are good for their own reasons but this is my all time favourite. The horn section is really good this whole show imo, this is the best opening act I've seen.
Atlanta is in the house 🏠
