I am blown away. I have always been a James Brown fan. My parents introduced us to all genres of music except opera. I am 66 and have always thought I didn't like opera. I was wrong.

I'm a 75 yo Irish-Sicilian guy who would sit at the kitchen table Sunday mornings in the late 50's-early '60s with my Sicilian grandfather, nibbling on hard parmesan cheese slices, fresh from the North End of Boston Italian bread (still warm!), and sipping mild port wine he had made himself. My Grandfather always had opera on the radio and I could have cared less. This is one of the happiest memories I had in my entire life. Thank you, GrandPa.

This has been one of my favorite vtds for a long time! So glad you got to hear it! This was from a concert Paavarotti did for charity --Pavarotti and friends singing duets with various other artists!

Love James Brown. Mixed with Pavarotti this is so dynamic. Pavarotti was just supernatural. He's singing for God now with his friend James.

too many people don't understand what this duet really means.. These are two giants in their world of music. This is massive! this also shows that real musicians or artists always match.

It has been some time since I last commented but this performance blew my mind and made my heart swell. You can feel the appreciation that these two artist have for each other. From vastly different backgrounds brought together for their love of singing and performing. I have been a James Brown fan since the late 60s and it took this open my eyes to Luciano Pavarotti. team them up and we get an epic performance. Thank you K.S.O. Love your reactions.

Nothing can match the original, but at the Grammy Awards tribute the year after James Brown's death, Christina Aguilera did a sensational cover of this song. I'm sure it's on KZread.

PAVAROTTI'S LYRICS ALIGN WITH JAMES BROWN'S IT'S ABOUT A MAN SEEKING POWER THINKING HE CAN DO IT ALL BY HIMSELF. NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO TRANSLATE HERE

You have that completely backwards. This is about a man not being able to do it by himself.

@@donepearce the lyrics end with "nulla ha piu senso se si vive solo per se'" meaning "nothing makes any sense if one lives only for himself." My italian is just fine, you basically finished my point. The lyrics warn men in general, power, needing no one is an illusion, bla, bla, Thank you for finishing my sentence. I appreciate the critique. kind regards 💖

The Maestro Pavarotti did a few concerts with pop artists, one featuring people like Sting, Bryan Adams, U2, Mariah Carry and many more, worth looking into them and by doing that and showing it is all music in it's many forms and not just Opera for the upper crust of society. Keep Safe Keep Strong KSO

HOW???? How could Luciano Pavarotti fit in with a James Brown song? I feel ignorant, because I never imagine this before. Really, I never have watched this images before. But OK. Mr. James Brown did it. Greetings from Brazil

Pavarotti has dozens of duets to listen to. Very nice that of "Miss Sarajevo" with Bono. Do you want to get excited? Watch the song "Vivo per lei" in the version sung by Bocelli and Hayley Westenra. (although as an Italian I prefer the original one with Giorgia)
