great video, but the background music is a bit loud and makes it hard to hear some of the conversation between Norm and Alan.

Not to mention the fact that it has nothing to do with the theme of the video...

Derek Meddings, wow what a guy and much of his miniature Bond work is so clever. He brought movie magic to the films that can be seen if you know where to look. So much of his work is so clever you don't even know it's a doll or miniature. Derek knew how to do the in camera optical shoot through painted matte, something of a forgotten art form now. Derek was a class act indeed. All I remember from Moonraker was the Space Shuttle scenes and that character Jaws.

Archaeosoup Productions all of the monster palooza footage had such fantastic audio, they really did a great job at isolating the interviews from the crowd noise, no idea why they wouldn't give this interview the same treatment

Crowded area + tons of background noise + thumping bass/ jazzy theme music = unwatchable video. Just leave the music out. People want to hear dialogue.

I think every movie should end with a practical model of the baddies lair being blown up with some sort of explosion. I mean imagine watching the end of Titanic, Rose is floating on the door, the boat arrives and she tries to wake Jack, who, being solidly frozen sinks off to the icy depths. But then, it flashes to the headquarters of the company who built the ship and BOOM! good old lair explosion. I cant think of a single film that couldnt be improved with this.

As an older person, I am can't get used to the change in the use of the term "practical effects". Prior to CGI "practical effects" referred to on-set effects shot at the same time with the actors. That included things like explosions, squibs, fire, water dump tanks, real lasers, etc. Miniatures filmed later to be added into the film either as cutaways or to be blended with matte paintings or compositing of live action were always referred to as "visual effects" or "optical effects". When CG came along, those became known as either "CGI", "CG", or "digital effects". So every time someone says "these model shots are practical effects", I cringe a little. I think Douglas Trumbull was quoted as saying "there's nothing practical about shooting large-scale miniatures".
