    I'm glad to hear that you found the tips in my video helpful. And I agree, Jamaican money is definitely unique and visually appealing with its colorful designs and portraits of national heroes. As for tourist areas, it's important to keep in mind that prices may be higher compared to non-tourist areas, but with some research and planning, you can still find affordable options and make the most of your trip.

    Thanks for the information. My friend who recently visited Jamaica indicated that most venders prefer US dollars. Let me know your thoughts?

  • @JustLexiSimple

    @JustLexiSimple

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey girl! Thank you for this, let me take a jab at it. Jamaican vendors prefer USD over JMD for a few reasons. One of the main reasons is that the USD is a more stable currency compared to the JMD, which can be subject to fluctuations in value. Additionally, many vendors may also have international suppliers who only accept USD, making it more convenient for them to conduct their business in USD. I hope this helps!

  • @cammi1736
    @cammi1736 Жыл бұрын

    I knew that USD dollars were widely accepted but good Lord 152 jamaican to 1 USD?! That’s insane! People must feel like they are balling when they come to Jamaica then!

  • @JustLexiSimple

    @JustLexiSimple

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, the exchange rate can definitely work in favor of travelers who are exchanging their USD for Jamaican currency! It can be quite a difference in value compared to what they are used to back home.

    TBH, I have never been on James street, but if it was a referral, then you should be good. Make sure they have reviews and you go with someone if you can. Overall, Mobay is majority safe for tourists, afterall, a lot of tourists walk around the areas and explore.
