I think the best thing for me is to pay with card. I did it in the Bahamas and I didn’t run into any problems. I paid cash when riding the bus and tipping.

Where are you from? The exchange rate for foreign countries works in their favor, however I can agree with you the cost of living is quite high esp with inflation. I would still say to visit even once for the experience - there is nothing quite like Jamaica! 💛🥂

It’s pretty safe. I’ve stayed at quite a few (over 10) this year and all were very safe, secure and sanitized

So........if I want to just buy a T-Shirt or something, how much in Jamaican dollars would that be? $1,000? 😅 Just trying to see how much it'll be compared to American dollars.

Hi! So right now the Jamaican dollar has been fluctuating between $154-$157 to 1 American Dollar. Depends on the type of t-shirt and where you buy it. If you are in the tourist areas, t-shirts could run you no more than $20 for a basic one and no more than $40 USD for something Jamaican themed (in the tourist areas or souvenir shops it’s quite expensive) Hope that helps
