that is the "output channels" selector in the audio device settings. iOS doesnt allow another device for output as the input device however, you can only select the output channels (this is for devices with multiple output channels)

The trial is free to download, but interrupts every several minutes. (hit "continue" then) it will be just as responsive as shown in the vids, when your gain is setup right.

Can Midi Guitar 2 Be Used In Reason Studios in Conjunction And To Control Reason Rack Extentions Synths & Effects ???

Reason has limited support: MG as a VST will load into it, but there is no midi routing from our plugin to other midi synths inside Reason.

@@KYNG000 Reason does not support midi output from loaded VST's. (I checked version 10.x, and there is no mention of this feature added in 11) That means that you can not load MG on a track in Reason and record the midi onto another track. This can not be fixed by any effort on our side: we allready provide the midi output conform the VST specifications. This workflow works on Ableton LIve,Cubase, Logic, Studio One, Reaper and multiple other major and less major DAW's... On the lighter side: The Reason rack plugin can be loaded inside MG: this however is not very keen to use within Reason: CPU usage is very inefficient that way, and there is no way to record the generated midi into a sequencer that way.

a realtime polyphonic pitch to midi converter can never be ideal. We might be able to improve it a bit, but it so complicated that we are still the only software company offering it.

To connect to iPhone 7 or above, you need a lightning adapter to connect to iRig 2. I tried a cheap one but it only connected to the Output section of MG2. I then bought one from UNBREAKcable, who had a great track record with me for phone screen covers, and this connected fine for INPUT & OUTPUT. Only a few quid more. Having said that, iRig 2 works fine with my iPad mini 3 plus you get a much bigger GUI.

I have used MIDIGuitar 2 with my acoustic and the Tonewood Amp and gotten some really lush ambient layering. Today, as I was researching how I'd like to trigger bowed instrument samples, and seeing how prohibitively expensive MIDI violins are, I eventually came around to the idea of using my guitar which has a hex pick-up output. I started looking at Roland guitar synthesizers, but then suddenly remembered MIDI Guitar 2. As a result, I just had one of the best afternoons ever trying out all the sounds on MIDIGuitar 2. One thing I can't seem to figure out, though, is how to load other samples banks on my iPad. I have used MIDIGuitar 2 on my iPhone to trigger Streetlytron Pro Mellotron sounds, so I know it was possible, or has something changed now? I know that Apple is dropping InterAppAudio in favor of AUv3; does it have anything to do with that? If anyone can point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Hi John, With the iOS version, a lot of different configations are possible. 1) Load the "external midi output" patch in MG, and target your synth instrument's midi inpur port. 2) Load an AUv3 inside MG 3) run MG alongside hosts like Audiobus or AUM, and load the "external midi output" patch in MG to adress the host. IAA will vanish, so the route: host audio --> IAA MG --> virtual midi return, will vanish. We're looking into an AUv3 version of our app.

@@JAM-ORIGIN Hi! Thank you for your prompt support! I did happen to see your other video @r7j4 (logged in as #NarchoBlaster) and that provided the solution I needed. I appreciate also the suggestion for integrating into Audiobus and AUM, and that you're working on an AUv3 version of MG2. The only thing I'm bummed about is that I waited so long to get into midi-guitar that the 13-pin output on my Godin is basically obsolete now! Simple pitch-to-midi converters like the GI-20 and Axos AX50 are gone now, and I really don't want to get into the 9 gajillion presets on a GR-55 just to be able to control softsynths and NI samples with my guitar. Keep up the great work!
