Jakob is an Associate Professor at the Department of Media and Journalism Studies at the University of Aarhus (@aarhusuni). He served as the Head of Department from 2014 to 2019. His research spans film and media aesthetics, film and media production, media policy, film and tv history, film and tv theory, the trajectory of legacy media into the digital realm, and comedy.
Jakob has co-edited ‘Fjernsyn for viderekomne - de nye amerikanske tv-serier’ (2011) and ‘Streaming for viderekomne - fra Doggy Style og Black Mirror til The Jinx’ (2020). He is also the founding editor of 16:9 - A Danish Online Journal of Film Studies .
