Some of us saw it way back then. This kid is something special.
Hey man, just came across this video and your channel. This was an incredible rendition of My Hometown. You stayed true to the spirit of the song while making it your own. I'm actually from a small town in NJ and have been listening to the Boss for as long as I can remember. It's awesome to see someone roughly my age that has a love and appreciation for this type of music. Good luck and keep on rockin Jake!
Another pop up video. This was great. It made me think of my own hometown. I haven't been there in a few years. You did a fantastic job with this song.... almost two years ago. Wow!
This is amazing best cover I’ve seen
Wow! How did I miss this one?! Outstanding. Love the harmonica work in the song. Adds a great touch.
Fantastic!
Absolutely fantastic 👏

You are a talented young guy. That was fantastic! Came up in my suggested videos. Cheers from New York! Jim.
Wow, wow, WOW! There aren't enough words to express how much I love watching and listening to you. This is INCREDIBLE! LOVE IT!

Appreciate it! It's a Hohner, in E.
Great work! Like 32 + Subscr.
Fantastic video 👏 Great voice Love the mouth piece Guitar needs tweaking a bit sharpen up strum patten in my opinion but I live it great version man 👏👏👏
Good job! Singing sounds great! Good guitar! I think some of the chord transitions could use a little work, maybe practice with a metronome to really nail the rhythm!
If you are going to cover Springsteen you will be a 3rd rate performer.

Great songs. I don't see the connection between covering any particular song and becoming a better or worse performer overall. They're songs, and the work makes you better. So, I'll keep playing a range of songs, writing, working, and seeing where the roads go....

@@jakethistle So you are covering one if the greatest artist ever and you don't see the correlation? You are in the same boat as his son. Cover Springsteen in a way that makes his sound yours. No easy task.

@@youtubesucks1499 I'm mostly a writer, though. I love to learn from the best-- but I'm in it to write. Here's a review of my album, if you're interested: americansongwriter.com/at-16-jake-thistle-could-be-the-next-generations-classic-singer-songwriter/

@@jakethistle I think you should learn from the best... post a video of you making a song your own. Otherwise, you are a guy doing a cover. Make the song your own and you are the guy who is putting a fresh spin on a song that's been heard 10,000 times.

@@youtubesucks1499 I'd also point out that the video is from two or three years ago. I was 14 at the time. I'm pretty comfortable that the music has evolved over the past few years. Here's a little more about my music at this point, if you're interested: jakethistle.com/about
