Not anti-ozzy or anti-sharon ... just telling the truth. I mean, how does it help your career to work with these people when they screw you out of your royalties, literally stealing your money, your credits & your reputation in the process? I can only wonder how much money they stole from RANDY RHOADS and his estate.

Ozzy always speaks fondly of Randy Rhoads, but I'm guessing that if Randy were still alive, he'd have been out of the band decades ago and suing Sharon and Ozzy for unpaid royalties just like most every musician who ever played in the band.

I mean that is , unfortunately, not an unrealistic scenario. I am sure he would have helped out Bob and Lee in their lawsuit. The real turning point in the history of metal for the Osbournes, is when they got Don Arden to perjure himself and suggest Bob paid him to say things in the lawsuit and Steve Machat unwilling to go against Don out of a perverse sense of loyalty

I believe Randy had pretty much decided to leave Ozzy well before his demise. Keep in mind that Sharon had fired both the bassist and the drummer that Rhoades created Blizzard and Diary with...that heavenly creative chemistry that made those stellar albums was already gone...so why would Randy stay?

Randy had already said he was thinking of quite for awhile and going to Europe and studying with the masters of classical guitar. Randy was above ozzy in talent. Ozzy just had an eye for talent and surrounded himself with better artists than himself whom he could steal music from.

It's funny how most people just assume Ozzy wrote all the songs that made him famous, all those things like Paranoid, Iron Man, War Pigs, Crazy Train, Flying High Again, when in every case it was the bass player he was with at the time. Geezer wrote all the lyrics for Sabbath during the Ozzy years, and Bob Daisley wrote all the lyrics on his early solo albums. The amazing part is Bob while different from Geezers writing style, managed to still write songs that 'fit' with Ozzy and seemed to be a progression in Ozzy's style, so to the average person it seemed like Ozzy was writing them all along. Ozzy is a frontman and a good one, and he helped hum some melodies to his bands when figuring out the music, but actual musical or lyrical talent he has not.

Anyone from the 80's music scene in Phoenix knows Greg or knows about him. Except for the few assholes he thumped he's extremely well loved. His two younger brothers are bass players as well. The Chaisson family can lay down a groove. Ozzy should have done the smart thing and went with the superior musician. Then again, when has Ozzy made good choices? Well I feel that way about Sharon, but not Ozzy. I really admire Ozzy, I guess for my own silly reasons. And really, watching Sharon on The Osbournes show, I really enjoyed her too. I think I'm being mental right now to be honest, but I'm in a good mood because I am half way thru a bottle of whiskey :) I just admire the way they made it through the late 70's when Oz almost died after his father passed, and Oz lost his mind and descended deep into alcohol and drugs. Then they move to LA, and put together Blizzard of Oz (the band), which turned into Ozzy Osbourne. And then they made it thru Randy's death, more guitar players, contract disputes, and then entered the 90's. Then they out competed so many bands in different genres. And then they made it in to the 2000's, and even did a tv show. They just had some serious balls, I feel. Also, serious behavior problems and they lorded over other musicians and their careers of course. But I guess I take the good with the bad. I just feel like they made it, and I can appreciate that and also at the same time shake my head at the stories (which I believe) about their cruelness. Sigh:: What a business.

Ozzy is no saint, of course, but I think a lot of his problems with other people are caused by Sharon, and he just trusts whatever she says. Take the recent news about Geezer Butler, for example: Ozzy complained that Geezer never contacted him while he was sick, but Geezer responded he tried twice to contact him and Sharon blew him off. But because it went through Sharon, Ozzy has no idea what is really going on. Sharon has done amazing things for Ozzy's career, but she has also caused a lot of damage in his relationships with other people.

He got lucky and has admittedly said so. As for Sharon, she is not the shrewd business woman everyone thinks she is. Her father was Don Arden who started Jet Records which was the label Ozzy recorded his first two albums on. Sharon was assigned as the manager for Ozzy because he was under contract with Arden and he wanted to keep tabs on Ozzy because of his reputation at the time of being an unruly alcoholic and drug addict. But like this: Vivian would record the songs composed by Jake. And Jake, Vivan's songs. In fact, I even have the name for the album: "Mammon Witches"

Are you kidding?? Jake and Sarzo had classic "pretty boy" looks when they were with Ozzy. And the keyboardist and drummer were essentially hidden in the back so Sharon didn't consider their looks as important. The funniest part is thinking Ozzy was some sort of Adonis. This is just..it's not at all surprising. I like much of Ozzy's music but as others have said in the comments, Sharon basically controls the info that Ozzy gets and she spins her own narratives and it's all too bad. Chaisson isn't someone to mess with. It's almost too bad Ozzy didn't try the headbutt nonsense in the bar because had he, approx 6 seconds later Greg would have knocked him cold. No gig then, but so what and at least he'd have a killer story to tell. Greg was better off without ever playing for Ozzy. Excellent bass player.

Is it just Ozzy or do bassists in general receive more crap than other musicians? If people are apathetic toward a bassist because they often don't get to shine like singers, guitarists, or even drummers then I can understand that even if I don't like it, but why try to make them miserable? I remember that Metallica's bassist before Cliff Burton quit due to Dave Mustaine doing things like rigging his amp to shock him. Seems self-defeating for band members to do to another band member, because you do need someone on bass unless you have someone like Ray Manzarek to replicate it on keys.
