    I honestly appreciate it a lot when runners give narrative context for the games. It's fine to play a game for the gameplay alone and not care about the story but it's still nice to see when the runner cares about the game casually as well.

    Jesus, Jak II took me about a week to beat, and this guy beat it in an hour! Good job man! And the mission with the three guys and all the metal heads can suck it.

    As awesome as bonesaw was, I don't get why everyone is making this about him. This run, imo, was equally entertaining for different reasons. This run was great at showing off the strats and explaining how things work, while bonesaw's had great overall comedic commentary. Both great viewing experiences in their own right, but one shouldn't be dragged down because of the other.

    33:43 - I KNEW IT. This happened to me the first time I played Jak 2, I was so close to winning, had a good lead and then suddenly watched Erol on the minimap drive straight through a building to get behind me again. One of the few missions I spent far too much time on. This is a great speedrun and I've actually learned a lot about Jak 2 thanks to it. The 3 spiderbot attacks on the resistance HQ, which game me difficulty i did not realise they would not cause damage if you were under them, should make the mission easier on my current playthrough!

    So I've only recently played Jak 2 after seeing the series on psn and damn that game has been a pain, wish I knew I could have skipped 60% of the game because the mission having to escaping the water area while all the guards are trying to kill you was horrendous especially since falling in the water got you killed.

  • @SickyNar

    @SickyNar

    Xane Myers From what I understand, the game loads areas in stages, or "heaps". The overworld heap is stored and triggered preemptively to the other parts (people, cars, music, etc.). Manipulating the camera to dodge specific triggers will let you avoid loading certain parts of the game.

    It wasn't that he didn't let us speak. He probably knew more about the run than the 3 of us combined, since none of us actively run the game. We were there to point out stuff he forgot to explain, (in my case) ask questions, and just generally be there for support. I think we all just thought he was doing such a good job with the commentary that we didn't want to interrupt him.
