This is my opinion. When you are younger, you think Porsche or BMW M are the ultimate best cars, and you will do anything to argue your point. However, as you mature, you find out this world is actually much bigger than you know, and not everything is black & white. you will start to appreciate the XKR. If you disagree with me. Think about how old are you first before responding.

  • @paulrosser7421

@@coolkid123456100 running costs weren't too bad, averaged 21mpg which for the size of engine wasn't bad. Services and parts were more than the XF by about 30%. The biggest issue was that even in the 2014 model I had Jaguar used the old version of their entertainment system which was showing it's age even in 2014 and had some issues like not being able to connect correctly to my phone (galaxy s8) due to the version of Bluetooth. Reliability was ok, mine was only 2 years old with 6k on the clock when I got it and aside from a turbo issue which was covered under warranty no other problems. Have since traded it in for a BMW 335d xdrive, which might not have the same looks as the XKR but i much prefer driving it as everything works and the tech is much better.

@@paulrosser7421 thanks for the quick and informative reply! I've spent the last few years in a 2005 golf so even that tech will be an upgrade. I'd budgeted around 1500 quid for annual servicing and maintenance.......I realise I'll need more than this if something goes badly wrong, but if I get a good example, do you think that will be enough or am I kidding myself?

@@coolkid123456100 lol from a 2005 golf the tech should be an upgrade, just don't rely too much on the satnav as it's awful. Last service I had on mine from jaguar at 30k miles was about 2k, the basic service was £600 and it needed some other bits like brake pads. I was driving it every day for work though so if you keep the mileage down £1,500 a year might be doable aside from anything major going wrong.

Did most of the maintenance on my XFR in the driveway myself. I found the XFR easy to work on. that said, never had anything major at all go wrong and I was pushing 100,000 miles when I sold it. XKR is next on the list.

(If I remember rightly, a 5-year-old, 315bhp Subaru takes 4.2 seconds.) But, these days, the new accelerative standard is 62-155mph (100-250kph), primarily because it saves melting the clutch and munching the transmission. If I remember correctly, an Enzo takes about 6 seconds... I bet the Super-Duper Jag's time is measure with a calendar
