Jay Leno is just such a likable guy. It is the cars like this Jag that brings me to this channel, and then Jay delivers his deep appreciation for them. A very enjoyable ten minutes.

Jay Leno is the ultimate car guy. He has the best collection of cars and motorcycles of all time. I will always be his biggest fan when it comes to his car collection.

It's not just you! I'm 16 and I love the way this car looks!

Love how Jay dumps the clutch and smokes 'em up at the end! I never realized how strong that V 12 was. By then, the car was too big and heavy. This is truly the best of both worlds.

I used to sell these cars....as new. I agree, the sixties were a golden age for sportscars, and this certainly is one of the best...better than new. Boy, does my heart race and my blood pressure spike when I watch and LISTEN to this car ! It just doesn't get any better. You really get a visceral sense of what this was all about ! Wow !

This blog seems to be a labor of love. I don't recall any ads on any of Jay's videos. Thank you Jay for all your hard work. It means a lot to all us car lovers.

I've seen a lot of Jay's car videos. This is one of the few that makes me really want the car. This is close to what the factory V12 should have looked like.

It's funny how curvy cars have made a big comeback- I never did like the angular designs of the 70's and 80's that much. E types, MGA's , TR4's, early Jensons all look fabulous- Lots of the motor cycles look brilliant from that era as well. Great video.

My dad bought my mom a brand new one in 1970....what sexy machine....he sold it in 1990 to a gentleman in England was shipping it back for a complete restore....it needed badly.....on time I saw my Dad cry when it was being loaded on the flat bed...besides the time he got his hand caught in the log splitter....he turned every color of the rainbow and I learned every swear word in English Austrian band Polish...boy I miss him

We feel nervous for you, Jay, driving in everyday traffic, where some other drivers may be inattentive. Donald Turnipseed didn't see James Dean and his mechanic approaching, because Porsche Spyder was little and low and a hedge obscured his vision. I've been driving little, low sportscars since 1948 and always expect the unexpected. People don't look both ways twice before pulling out , as professional drivers suggest. You are a much-beloved celebrity and America's best known car guy and top comedian. Happy motoring. You set a good example and thanks for sharing.

When Jay talks cars there is not much that he says with which I disagree. This video is no exception. I love vehicles of that era.

The E-Type body style is one of the best representations of the 60's sports car. Both the hard tops and convertables were stunning then and stunning now.

The fact that he lit the tires on a car like that is priceless. Too many are never like they were intended.

What a wonderful combination of a 12 and a 6! Very, very sexy. Red was always my favorite on these timeless lines since I was 8 years old. I am a big fan of keeping older cars like this stock but this work of art is a wonderful exception!

She still looks as beautiful as ever Jay - I was a mechanic working on these icons in the mid 60s, you are totally correct, they don't make 'em like that anymore. I had a hand in restoring 3 x 1953 London double decker buses in USA a few years back, we hauled them from San Diego to Oregon and managed to restore two of them before repatriating them all back to UK - maybe we should have offered one to you ?

The guy that modified that Jag was an artist. That is by far the best looking XKE I have seen. Perfect proportions. Plus the V12.

I've owned 5 Jaguars. Everything in this video took my breath away. Every word out of Leno's mouth was "telling my whole life..." Thank you, Roberta Flack. Thank you Jay Leno.

I love your Jags. I had a XJS 12 cylinder. I think some chrome exhaust tips would look good on your Red XKE, (2 into 4) When I was in High School (‘63-‘66) I had access to my Fathers’1964 MG-B. We modified it heavily. Stroked and bored it, 30’ over, a cam, duel Weber’s and a completely new exhaust (header and 4 into 2). It had a Roll Bar and 4 point safety harness.. In those years this MG won in its class at LeMans. I was so proud to be driving a real racing car that was featured in ‘Car & Driver’. My car was a Canary Yellow ‘55 Chevy. I sold it, and inherited the MG to go to College. I drove it around ‘The City’ during “The Summer of Love” (1967). Keep up the great work. I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoy your show. I was watching one of your ‘Tonight Shows’ (1987) when you had Roy Orbison & KD Lang was on. The guy playing ‘back-up’ (acoustic guitar) on “Crying” was my lead guitar in ‘my ‘ band “Sanpaku” (20 yrs before). Thanks for all the great cars. Mr.Leno

Watching this after 10 years I have to admit that Jay is absolutely right when saying that the most beautyiful sport cars ever were designed in the 50s and 60s!

I saw Jay cruisin in this Jag a month ago in LA. Hell yeah, now I found the video to this car.

I saw Jay driving this car yesterday on Coldwater Canyon. I was in a traffic jam going up towards Mulholland he can came zipping down and I did not get a chance to wave to him.

The hidden one of a kind cars are the best-and what a beautiful car to spend that much time with.

I was around 8 years old, my brother and I were were walking down the street near my grandfather's Taylor shop and we walked by a Jaguar dealer. When I looked in the window and my jaw Dropped! There was an V-12 XKE! It was the most beautiful thing that I had ever seen! I think that was the day that I became a Car Freak! !!!

Nice project! The E-Type is and always was my favorite auto shape, you have recovered some of the proportons from the 6 cyl models with the more powerfu V-12 motor and updated brakes, electrics etc... It is a super car now.

My Dad had a very good and close friend, who was a pro working JAG's of all" Breeds". When he would go visit I got to go with him and watch them work on the cars.
