    Another awesome and detailed video. Thanks for taking the time to video-document the work it took to remove the S.C and hoses. I'm looking forward to your parts list and the next video. Excellent suggestion regarding the knock sensors.

    Truly an artistic video of the highest quality - kudos - I wish more people could understand the difficulty/ concentration/ diligence/ focus it takes to master this kind of task. Given this example, maybe more people would hesitate to leap upon the opportunity to get on a spaceship to go to anywhere else. Complexity multiplies opportunities for errors. Pulling over on a highway or byway beats the alternative between here and planet XYZ. XJR rules ;)

    Anyone considering this job, once you have your hose clanps off, you can take a lubed up 3/8 pex line and feed it inside the coolant hose until it comes out the other side and then cut the pex, and slide the old hose off of it, and then slide the new hose back on and pull the pex out. No blower removal necessary.

    Hey there. I was inspired to remove the supercharger on my xkr after watching this but the most crucial detail was left how . ie how to remove that horrendous nut at the back or the ear as you called it. I had to give up in the end as I couldn’t reach that nut

  • @LowTechGarage

    @LowTechGarage

    Hey there! For us a previous person had cut a slot in the supercharger making the removal of that ear a lot easier. The nut on ours was not done up ver tight. Hopefully you were successful!

    I had the same issue. I removed every thing in the way, then I bought a very long flexible ratchet wrench ( Amazon) . It still took a lot of time and patience but I got it out. TEKTON 8 x 10 mm Long Flex Ratcheting Box End Wrench | WRN77103

    If it is one of the hard plastic hoses it should connect into the elbow on the back of the supercharger. If it’s one of the soft coolant hoses those connect on the elbow and throttle body. Hope that helps.

    On our car the previous owner had notched the eyelet that held the supercharger down. I would recommend a crows foot wrench. That could help.

    Hi. I have the 2004 XJR, the thermostat is changed, radiator, also the host for the power steering and also just changed the alternator. At first it was overheating especially when the weather is really hot and when the car is parked while its on. Today it’s happening again. I tried to call the shop where they fixed the leaking amd i womder why still overheating

    On the X350 there is a pretty involved bleeding procedure to get the air out of the system after service. You need to run the car up to temperature with the heater on maximum. This will circulate all the coolant through the heater system. If your heat is on max and its not hot you have air in the system. On the jag forum there is some additional useful information on bleeding the system. I would have them check this, I ran into a similar issue after servicing the cooling system on my X350 and it was air in the system. Good luck!
