Jaguars can swim in water and climb trees, they rule the rainforest.

People don’t realise how amazing jaguars are. They’re excellent climbers and swimmmers, have the most powerful bite of any big cat, can take on prey just as big as themselves alone. They are everything that is great about a big cat

That cat jumped into a caimán infested river, fought and killed a caimán bigger than him in the caiman’s own territory, and still was able to haul that big old reptile out of the water over a small hill with no help. That is a bad ass kitty.

A nile or saltwater croc would pretty easily eat a jaguar without much struggle.

Don't know what's up with the two comments above me. OP didn't say that was a croc or an alligator EDIT: it seems I didn't make myself clear enough. My issue stems grammatically rather than factually. The fact that the two previous comments above me is needlessly correcting the OP's post made me confused, perhaps they mistaken the word ''apex predator'' and taking that as meaning calling it a crocodile or sth. Hence my questioning. Not arguing about facts or anything :P

Jaguars has the strongest bite force as all the big cats even it’s the third largest from lions and tigers. While the other big cats kills its prey from suffocation, jaguar do so with a swift bite to the head, Piercing and crushing the skull. At 2000 psi bite force, there is no getting away from that.

Nah, this is the food chain in action. An apex predator hunting another predator. Jaguars have the strongest bite pound for pound of any feline. Want to know why? They evolved to be able to bite through caiman's thick skin at the back of their neck. Nature friends? Nope. All a caiman is to a jaguar is 'dinner'. The same way Lions kill (and eat) other lions, leopards, painted dogs, elephants- pretty much anything they can get their (massive) paws on.

That's just a puny caiman. A Salt-water or Nile crocodile would bite a Jaguar in half. The only two cats that have encountered giant crocodiles and fought them off are Tigers and Lions, the latter even in the middle of a river. Crocodiles are not to be messed with, they have a bite-force 1/3rd of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. That's crazy!

Theyre actually not a variety of croc at all. Its kind of like saying a lion is a variety of tiger. Theyre both in the same crocodilian family, just like lions and tigers are in the feline family. But crocs are much bigger and more powerful in general than caiman. Its a common misconception. I dont think a jaguar would even attempt an attack on a full size American Crocodile
