No doubt you should always take your car to a reliable mechanic to check it out for you. But that still cost money, so you need to be absolutely convinced the car is worth it anyway. In here you'll find everything you need to build up a strong CaseFile around any car which is tempting.

very important check the rear subframe, they tend to rot out as ive seen 4 of them and owned 2 with a rotted out subframe. Everything may seem mine but check the upper brackets rust.

I haven't watched the whole video yet but you missed something fairly important: to look for milky quality to the oil not only with the dipstick but also the engine oil filler cap (which yes, people can clean off which is why you look at the dipstick oil as well). If you see milky color to the oil, it usually means somehow water has mixed in with the oil because of either a blown head gasket or other leak and could be an expensive problem.

take a newspaper put underneath after a drive, they may push the car along so the oil leak {if any} doesn't show put paper underneath and wait for a few mins.

This video is a great help but it's too late for me I already bought a used 2005 Stype Jaguar. Needless to say I have already sent a considerable amount for repairs the latest one is a need for a new fuel filler neck which I cannot find. It sucks! But can you suggest where to get one? Thanks.
