yeah, Jagex slowly turning OSRS into rs3 and the "osrs fans" love it instead of calling it out they love every single thing they port from rs3 its so funny.

I couldn't tell you whose video or what series, but I recently saw a video of someone looting Rogue's safely: They were using a dragon spear to lock most of the Rogues in the little hut in the northeast, then using an alt to physically block the other two southwest near the door of the northwest corner of the castle. im glad there's more bosses with similar gp/hr these days, even if they don't have a special 'thing' to make them worth grinding for max efficiency players. It's hard to find free worlds to boss in the wildy when you've only got reasonable access to 20-odd servers, so the more variety the better!

I have 99 Thieving really want to try the updated wildy chests. I remember doing it before and the loot was meh. Plus for some reason, I would still have teams showing up to kill me. This looks like it might be worth it now.

Great take on the bots. It's wild how many people think that just because the content is botted it doesn't deserve to be improved for real players. Players should always take priority over bots when it comes to game changes, and the solution to bots will never be to leave content in a broken state.

Ikr? I created my account (Moltrinex) back in early 2001, like right after the game launched, and pretty much ever since WoW came out, people have been saying "rs is a dying game". Not gonna lie, I AM impressed that it's still around, being updated, and has a strong community, but I also have always considered RS to be one of the most unique and "closest to a legit virtual world" games ever created. I went to prison a decade ago, came home this past September, and the game looks as active and loved as ever! I haven't logged back in yet, but I follow the community and am still close friends irl with my friends I made on this game from YEARS ago, so they update me too. Actually, a couple kept money on the phone while I was locked up to take my calls, which I thought was incredible for "video game friends". Just goes to show this game and its community is something special. Glad to see there are still other active players, like you, from the early 2000s. Keep playing! Veterans are the heart of this game. :)

Makes plenty sense for the OS wildy methods to get some love since you have the risk. Muddy keys are fairly popular in f2p RS3 since wildy rework, is about 2mil/hr on a free world (it can only drop coins in f2p, but it averages 6k and keys are 2k)

The man, the myth, the MISSION

How to fix Chaos Elemental: Chaos Ele will only unequip items from players & teleport players who have a skull. However, loot drops will be improved significantly if you kill it with a skull. This gives PKers a disadvantage killing people who are grinding Chaos Ele. But, if you want the max GP/h, you must kill it with a skull. Keep the chaos ele pet and Dragon Pickaxe on loot table for non-skulled kills. Add increased base drops with skull. Edit: Alternatively, they could redesign the fight & mechanics to make it so that fighting the Chaos Ele with a skull, makes the chaos ele into a super beef'd up revenant type boss. Who uses teleblocks, freezes, blood magic?, and ranged attacks and other mechanics. Meanwhile those mechanics will not affect/will not be present against people who are fighting it without a skull. So if a PKer shows up, maybe the Chaos Ele will be an actual threat to the PKer. Again, killing it with a Skull will provide significantly better loot. But will be a very great challenge, due to reworked Revenant mechanics. Loot table can scale to the actual difficulty.

what if you were to pick the rogues chest while you're 1hp? with prot melee on. when pk logs in just turn off prot melee and let the stack of rogues hit a 1 on you in your monks robes, easy gravestone instead of pvp death

Glad you mentioned bots at the end. It's a well known problem but still. It's embarassing and needs to be addressed ASAP. How can this keep going on after years?! They're so obvious too.

Its an impossible task. Compare the resources of the OSRS team (small) vs the botting community. Not to mention the risk of false bans outweighing countless true bans.

Bots have to either buy membership or buy bonds for gp (increasing their value, and encouraging players to buy bonds to sell) jamflex doesn't want to stop bots because they bring in half their revenue.

​@@amazingkool The OSRS team is not small anymore. In 2014 you'd have an argument but for several years they have had the size and resources to actually fight bots. Runescape has previously had a huge bot nuke, the clusterflutterer, but it crippled their revenue, leading them to microtransactions to try to stay afloat. The OSRS team knows about the bot problem but they either have orders from the higher ups not to kill botting again or they choose not to because they want to put out big revenue numbers and killing bots would put OSRS in a financial slump.

you accidentally had the webeaver set to accurate instead of rapid in the dps comparison, because accurate is the default. webweaver is actually a decent bit better than tbow here, i hope the wiki makes rapid the default for ranged weapons so stuff like this doesnt happen to people lmao. great vid!

Love OSRS getting updated at all, but I would like to see them rework anything but the wilderness and PVP; they have been focused on it for a while. We could use stuff like a rework for minigames and rewards, shortcuts and agility, mining and smithing, updating universally agreed upon bad quests, and even the map in certain places could be worked out to be much more accessible. They are doing great working adding on to the desert and adding valamore; I just wish some of that design love went to the basics, too.

Muddy Key Running pre-EOC (and from what I can remember early EOC) was (and maybe still is) the best f2p money maker in rs. I used to make f2p guides on the RS Forums page and tested it myself- used to do it for money sometimes too. The trick was to bring a gem bag from dungeoneering to keep the gems in and you'd drop everything else but the mithril bars or steel chestplate or whatever else was in it. I think it made in the 300k-600k per hour which for f2p, is insane. Only flipping and telegrabbing Wines while high alching compared for f2p, iirc.

actually considering elemental could drop dragon pick it would therefore have been updated since 2006.

I've done thousands of these chests before the update just for the Dragonstones - great for early ironman if you've camped theiving hard enough. Love the update tho.

i just looked it up and.. it says they made it to where the chaos elemental does it's teleport attack less frequently and i feel like that's just so lame, i don't play anymore but i feel like that attack made the wildy just so much more spookier & harder unless you had pies in your invy. Can't believe they changed it, wish they would have left it how it was but oh well. I felt like it was perfect. But the drop table still sucks LOL

Btw, you must have done something wrong with the dps calculator because webweaver has a max of 46 but wins out in dps over tbow at 8.27. You must not have had wilderness selected

yea just jump in and play. It is significantly simplier than RS3 in many aspects making it way easier to learn. No need to spend the first 4hrs of gameplay messing around with the UI to make something playable.

Wilderness is the one place players have direct impact over controlling the bots. Hell, we know the chests are going to get botted - as a result, noob PKers will go there, which will just increase Wilderness activity, which is healthy.
