Jacob van Eyck (c.1590-1657) - Variations on Engels nachtegaeltje/ Den nachtegael | Sophia Schambeck

Variations on Jacob van Eycks famous nightingale(s) :-)
After loving and playing this melody for more than a decade (most of the time without score), comparing van "Engels nachtegaeltje" and "Den Nachtegael" (both were published in "Der Fluyten Lust-hof"), listening to the real bird sing, playing the original version of the English song (yes it exists!) the music is so internalized that I combine variations new every time I play it. - Do you think it was intended like this by Van Eyck?

This is so amazing, I love it as always. Always a huge fan of everything you do. You've shown me how wonderful of an instrument the recorder is. I think you're one of my favorite KZreadrs.

Amo la musica antica e naturalmente il flauto dolce e quando lo sento suonare in questo modo, mi emoziono tanto. Infiniti complimenti!

Played with such authenticity and spontaneity; as if being created for the first time. You've made this your own. An inspired interpretation!
