    Normally wouldn’t have given these a 2nd lok, but I’m really impressed with the JacksonV string with neck thru body construction. Always been a RIC, Höfner, fender P, J, and Telebass player. But I hear promise in the white one, especially with T-I jazz flats. YEAH BABY. well played by 2 talented and studly human beings! Let’s see more!

    I owned a JS 3 about 8years ago. Loved everything about it except the polyurethane finish on the neck. It would get sticky when my hands were sweaty. I recently picked up the JS2 and it feels the same but with a nice satin finish on the neck. I don't mind the passive pickups as I don't need to worry about keeping extra batteries with the bass.

    I have Jackson David Ellefson CBX V QS and this bass if frickin awsome. Finish is great, sound is really good (if you like "Junior" bass playing it`s a must-have), passive EMG pickups with active EQ works great and last but not least - it has one small feature i really like - pots have "click-point" on middle position, so you always know where you are ;)

    Had the 4 and 5 string David Ellefson Kelly Birds for the last 4 years now (got both on their initial release) and they're 2 of my favourite basses, even more than my 2 Fender Jazz basses (Flea and Marcus Miller). Never let me down. I don't treat my basses to delicately either yet they haven't picked up a single ding or scratch. I got my 4 string signed by Gus G too which is nice! I've also played the 4 string JS3 and it sounds exactly the same as the Kelly Bird basses. Not much sound difference between any of them to be honest, however they are a lot more than just rock/metal basses, don't be fooled by the looks! Some of the most versatile basses Ive ever played. I've played anything ranging from funk to jazz to full on Megadeth on those basses and they're just as good at everything else as they are metal! I want another Jackson more than I want my next breath! I think of Jackson as the Ferrari of the guitar world, except I could never afford 2 Ferraris and be planning to get a third!

  • @Big_Red_Devil_98

    @Big_Red_Devil_98

    @@travisbuckley7299 I haven't played many Thunderbirds but it's pretty much a case of don't let go of the neck if you don't want your headstock to slam to the ground so I'm guessing similar? Having said that, they're surprisingly comfy to play. Still got them both to this day! Never bought a third Jackson though as I made the rather large investment of a Status Graphite 😬 Although I would really like to get my hands on a classic 90s Jackson with a PJ configuration.

    I have the black JS3Q Jackson bass and its onenof the finest basses that I ever played and they definitely got more balls than the kelley bird basses . I was planning to get the kelley bird but Im glad I decided to go with the JS3Q bass because it has heavy low end tone and a nice growl to it . I love my Jackson bass and wont gibe it up for nothing. and the feel of the neck is great .

    Fan of the Jackson's here, i own a couple of cbx IV DE old model (i don't like the knobs config from his new one) and a cbxNTV, great sounding and looking basses, some says they are mostly to "play metal", but as show in the vid, they are versatile on any style. BTW, just notice that Jackson are stop producing some "old" models like the ones from this review, replacing them with horrendous looking new ones, which were showed on NAMM this year, so be quick to grab any of this if you can.

    My Dad has a Jackson 4 string from 1990 and it is the standard against which I judge other basses. He also has the Dave Ellefson sig from 2 years ago (bit different than these) and it leaves a lot to be desired. I like Jackson guitars but they are not what they were in their heyday when Grover was around.
