I remember when this came on t.v. on channel 7 in New York City in 1971 there wasn’t a kid to be found outside, everyone was home getting ready for The Going Back To Indiana Concert to come on. My sister watched this actual special when it aired!!! My sister was a teenager and I was a pre-teen and our mother told us if we wanted to watch it we had to take our baths first so we would be ready for bed after we watched it, It was so hard to go to sleep after a show performance like that!!! That's all we could talk about the next dayd at school. Then for Christmas our parents bought us the soundtrack and I played it and sang along almost all Christmas Day!!! It was so exciting!!!

Idk about "gods" but they was some baaaad brothers 🤞🏾🤌🏾💛 .. Joseph and Mrs. Katherine did a damn good job aside from the abuse the kids endured. There is no better Hollywood family to this day. That's why they're known as BLK Hollywood royalty 👑🏆💎

Reality check time: 1. At 6:08 You can hear the bass but see that Jermaine is not actually playing it as his right hand is completely off the instrument. (I wonder what Joe had to say about that afterward) 2. The bass line is not by Jamerson. A sax player wrote and played it on the recording session (I forget the player's name). However, the bass line is considered one of the best in pop music.

For specials and tv appearances they didn’t actually play there instruments and they lip synced. For the actual concert tho they where actually playing and singing, jermaine is a great vocal and bassist.
